Wasn't going to weigh in but after reading some of the comments and being disappointed in them, I will.
To those that are jumping on the offense: this person is clearly not saved and is deceived. As Christians we should understand such, and with the heart of Christ respond in wisdom with salt AND grace/love.
"Things also actually get done" "...rather than
just praying for things to happen in my life" "My life has really improved since I stopped believing" ---> To me this sounds like you were somewhat lazy / unproductive / inactive before and relying on God for everything. The Bible tells us we must work hard and be active in accomplishing things in our lives, in addition to putting our trust and faith in Him. You can't just pray to get a job and not apply, for example. What kind of loving father would give you everything you asked for without making you work for it/earn it? That wouldn't be very good parenting at all.
Again, you are completely misunderstanding, love... Not sure where to begin explaining... I will just summarise and say that the world is how it is, in its violence, war, and hate, because of sin. Because people do not know God/ the truth thus haven't been 'born again' with the Holy Spirit. God IS love and if the world knew Him there would be much less hate (not none because we can still make mistakes- we need a saviour because we are innately sinners)! The violence and hate you speak of are SINS. God forbids them. So, you cannot blame God for people's disobedience. It is people's inherent sinful nature and Satan who continues to deceive us into hating, being jealous, etc etc that are to blame.
Moreover, other 'religions' (and 'false' Christianity) are a creation of Satan, so that people have so many lies to believe that it's
that much harder to come to know God, also obviously to bring division and confusion.
ALL of this wisdom is written in God's holy word the Bible. (But please note you must take scripture in the context of the entirety of the Bible, otherwise you may misunderstand.) Also, if you read the Bible without the Holy Spirit you probably will not understand. So I do suggest reading it but definitely pray first and foremost for God to reveal Himself and the truth to you, IF you truly desire to know it. Jeremiah 29:13. If you don't truly desire to know Him, He is not a fool, so don't waste your semi-effort prayers lol. I pray you will though for your eternal sake. <3
I have OCD when it comes to writing and I'm sure I could word this a whole lot better, but I won't attempt to amend. I hope this makes sense. If you would like scriptural evidence or have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask or PM? God bless!
