I think it would be wise were you to first understand what has been posted before alleging anyone is saying works save.

If your first motive for posting is to find error, this would make you a judge. Now you are judgeing your brethre providing you believe Jesus Christ.

It would be good for you to stop this practice and understand before alleging I think in terms of works for my salvation.

Faith without works is not faith.

Well - said - I agree!

John 3:16 according to the "workers for" salvation crew.....

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, does many wonderful works, is immersed, is a member of hickory stick church, feeds the poor, back flips down the isle while speaking in tongues and healing 66 sick folk and never sinning shall not perish, but have eternal life.
LOL! :)

such foolishness goes on and on about 'works verses grace', - the simplistic reality is that,
'God-given-heartfelt-works equal God-given-heartfelt-grace, both the same, a part of His time,
and at the end both find their place in His Holy place and time...

really...what dictionary have you been reading and what bible....

works--grace.....no where near the same....and for sure the first is not needed for salvation....but rather is a result of salvation which one already possesses dia faith...........what a cryin shame!

While we are saved by grace through faith, we are rewarded according to our works.. We reap in heaven what we sow on earth. "Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works" (2 Timothy 4:14). I don't believe there will be total equality in heaven; "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12). The parable of the talents seems to illustrate this.

There are no quotation marks. What is posted is posted with understanding derived but no a direct quote from the Word. I did ask you previously to refrain from deflecting. What I meant by this is pleas stay on topic, at least on what you are replying to.

God bless you bountifully with all wisdom and understanding.........amen

James is an interesting book especially about faith and works.

His argument is Abraham showed his faith by offering Isaac. The offering showed not only
he believed but he was willing to act upon it. As a result God believed him.

Works alone just demonstrate morality or good behaviour.
Faith alone just demonstrate understanding the rule of God.

Faith producing works shows you know God and walk in His ways.

You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.
James 2:20-24

So likewise if you know Jesus and have put your faith in Him and purified your heart,
you will show the works of this purification.

The works do not justify the person before God, they show the faith is real and
has taken root to bring the fruit of works.

So a believer shows they know God by being able to love and keep Gods commandments.
Those who fail to be able to keep Gods commandments still have issues to resolve in
their hearts and desires. It is these desires that war against our souls and cause us so
much trouble, which leads to sin, which leads to death.

There is one way to end this argument, but you won't choose it. You won't, because you're addicted to winning the argument, very much like the gambler. The gambler says "just one more game" & I'll recoup my losses & quit."

The poster says, "just one more page, & I'll leave the thread. But we all know that last page never comes.

You are convinced you are doing God's will, & it must be finished. That is a lie. Note the scripture:

Luke 10:1Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them in pairs ahead of Him to every city and place where He Himself was going to come. 2And He was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. 3“Go; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4“Carry no money belt, no bag, no shoes; and greet no one on the way. 5“Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’ 6“If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. 7“Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house. 8“Whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you; 9and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
10But whatever city you enter and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, 11‘Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’ 12“I say to you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

2 Thessalonians 3:14 If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame. 15Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

Jude 10: 10But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. 11Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have rushed headlong into the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. 12These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; 13wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.

The sad thing I've come to understand is one can be on the opposing side, correct, & be just like their opponent, because their attitudes & motives have been changed, which is a result of a heart change.

The only way to "win" is to let go. Without opposition, the thread will die, because the opponents won't argue with each other.

But, as long as you provide them with a "competitor", the thread goes on. You're not a conqueror when you're feeding the opposition & keeping their threads open. Let it go.

Please be clear that when I have posted in this thread I have wanted to warn
any and all family in Christ of certain error prevalent in the thread.
Nev er teach that good works are not expected of each of us once we have
taken Jesus Christ as our Savior in faith.

Do not attempt to say anyone impelled to do good works by the Holy Spirit is
attempting in any manner to save himself. That attitude is of the enemy, not of
God.

Do not confuse obedience with being under the law. I believe most who level this
accusation are not true to Jesus Christ, for He teaches us how the law is now from
His sermon on the mount to His actual words on just how the law is yet in effect.

Learn all about everything from the Master, for He teaches how the law is today.

Do not confuse the peace of obedience with being a slave to the law without mercy, justice and faith. This attitude is not from God.

If any here believe I have been arguing instead of presenting my understanding on works, I apologize yet I add, I honestly believe I have been sharing understanding given by God to me and to all.

God bless all who are in Jesus Christ, and all who will be, amen.

Every point is elaborated upon, taught, by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am sorry if you need dead quotes without understanding.........

I never said they were not taught by Jesus.

I said, NO ONE IS TEACHING that God does not want us to be holy and righteous AFTER we are saved, So WHO are you warning?

This is double speak. It is saying everyone is not saved who holds a certain position
so everything they are saying is back to front.

It is a strange way of insulting and insinuating superiority and condemnation on another
without openly doing it and being honest.

I do not understand if you believe people are not saved just say it and the reasons why,
else it becomes a non-disclosed conversation that repeats forever.

Nice scripture references.....funny thing is....all are out of context EXCEPT the JUDE quote which is INTERESTINGLY enough applied unto FALSE teachers.....the FIRST on the LIST is CAIN.......

CAIN taught WORKS

What a sad joke.....quote a reference that applies unto 3 false teachers.....one being a false teacher that taught human work and effort to be right before God............

(John 6:28-29)

28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
