I am wondering if I should take a break from, or maybe even leave CC before I get upset enough to get myself banned.

Here are some of the things I have "learned" from CC (NOT my statements opinions!)

- WE (most of us) are saved by grace / faith , but homosexuals and people who commit suicide will go to hell no matter what, no grace for them.

- People who don't speak in tongues aren't saved

- People who are saved never sin
(so: I am not saved?)

- God predestined and created people planning to put them in hell
(combined with the above: I am destined for hell, so what am I doing here ? )

Oh my gosh, no way...

If Jesus actually killed me, revived me and gave me eternal life, but now my soul belongs to him, and not me...

Then am I secretly a vampire?!

I can certainly relate with the need to take a break from CC, but I hope you don't make it permanent. I also hope that our secular gun talk isn't a contributing factor from yesterday. If I so I'm sorry.

Building others up in Christ with love and carrying each others burdens is a primary reason to come, and I think you have done a terrific job on both counts.

May God's blessings be with you no matter what you choose!

Thanks PenEd , no that wasn't part of it, that was just a difference in opinion :)
What I struggle with is the ones who condemn people who disagree with them to hell :p

wwjd_kilden, I hear you for sure; that sinless perfection fellow was banned the other day but may be back at some point... people who are banned often come back, as it seems this place is a haven for addicts haha. One thing that may help you is to do study on what hell really is. The doctrines of men often leave much to be desired. I witness the backs and forths about them but in some cases do not even have a side even if there is a leaning and decided concepts about certain aspects of the teachings. I often see both sides. Assuredly, most people here do not share my views on hell. I don't get how anyone can believe God is loving just and merciful, but then that same person turns around and says God will torture and torment you forever after throughout the rest of eternity for not doing whatever they believe. First of all, nowhere is it said the soul is immortal. Second of all, the whole gist of Scripture points to life being found only in Jesus Christ. Those are pretty basic to lending themself to accepting what Scripture plainly says: the soul that sins shall die, passing into the second death.

Good morning all :D

Good thing they ain't the Lord. I have closed my account on three occasions myself so I'm in no position to say you shouldn't, because endless crazy posts from people takes a toll on you. I hope you will stay, you're a nice and sane (not an obvious thing in here) person. Besides, you speak Norwegian:).

We serve cookies to cat people and dog people and anyone who would like one, actually, whether you would like a cookie or a dog or a cat, unless you be like that wee elephant, breading them and deep frying them poor hapless furry purries  But we will not talk of such things now, while we are having our little welcome party for you :D

I believe speaking in tongues is important, but never have said you must do it to be saved. And I haven't seen this said on CC, WWJD. Please don't leave for this reason. But, I would encourage study to all of us so we all are firm in what we believe.

Being dead in Christ, drinking the blood of Jesus, eating his body, and wearing a symbol of the apparatus he died upon. Vampiric zombie satanist or Christian?

It is one of many reasons, read the threads on tongues and you will see people say that all who are saved have this gift,
that , by default , means that those who don't aren't.

I just need to get away from all the "I am a saint and you are going to hell" stuff.

PS: The speak your mind and streams people: You are amazing folks and you have no idea how much you all mean to me,
I just need to retreat to keep what's left of my sanity :)

Speaking in tongues is one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.......and study in this are is truly important, for I see that through my studies of this Gift, what many peoples today call the Holy Spirit Gift is anything but. As well, as I read the teachings of Paul concerning the Gifts of the Spirit, tongues seems to be the "least of the Gifts" in his view.

As for some people here putting forth the idea that one must speak in tongues to truly be saved..........I have read this many, many times.........so she is correct in that. The put forth this assertion by asserting that the PROOF OF ONE'S SALVATION is their speaking in tongues..........which simply means if one does not speak in tongues, one is not saved. No other way to interpret that assertion.

As well, many folks today simply do not understand that "tongues" is nothing more than "languages." Speaking in other tongues is simply speaking in other languages, and these languages are known languages. While the person speaking them may not know the language/tongue, it is a KNOWN language/tongue.

There is one example in Scripture of speaking in an UNKNOWN tongue/language, but that one is oft times misinterpreted/misused by a lot of peoples today in my opinion. If it TRULY IS an UNKNOWN TONGUE, then it CAN NOT be interpreted for it is an UNKNOWN TONGUE.........seems to me that would be nothing more than common sense, but, I suppose, that may just be me.

Praying for the Gift of interpretation refers to the KNOWN tongues/languages, and not the UNKNOWN in my opinion.
