Thanks, I'll keep them in mind if I go back to primary next year. Math is a challenge, the hardest subject to teach, in my opinion. So anything is a help. I don't know what level the children are you teach, but when I taught first grade, something that helped my struggling students with one to one number coordination was wooden numbers with raised dots on them, one dot for the one, two dots for two, etc. It was amazing to see the light bulb turn on, "Oh, so the number two stands for two things, etc"

You sound passionate. That's great. I've gotten a bit burned out, so I think I need a change and go back to my first love, the smaller kids. They're a lot easier to handle. I'm just not intimidating enough for the middle grades.
I don't know how long you've been teaching, but when you feel burned out, change grades or schools. It usually happens with most teachers, and you need to change things up.

That's a fantastic exercise, will keep that in my resources, thank you!

Thankyou! I am! Nothing gives me greater joy in life to know that I'm fulfilling the will of God for my life and letting Him shine through to others because of my work He's blessed me to be able to do.

I've been teaching since 2003 and have loved every second of it. I've taught in America too and had some amazing experiences there. The best perspective I can offer you is that each school has a different socio-economic background, mixed gender and ages of students. This makes a significant difference to your teaching. I've always found, generally speaking, that the higher the socio-economic background was, the students were more mature and naturally motivated to do their best. They came from families where education was a top priority and were surrounded by high achievers. Environment is everything in upbringing and so to it transfers to our day in the classroom.

I'd like to share to my brothers and sisters of the same faith (HG), that today at church we received a testimony from a pastor in China and we found out over 70 churches under his influence, reaching out to the catholics and non Christians in China have received the gospel of God's super-abounding grace. We're looking forward to more victorious news! God showers His love on China!

Not anymore they don't.. CS1 and Oncefallen have made the decision that anyone debating or promoting hyper grace will be banned. They are sick of having to deal with tons of reports about people pushing hyper grace..

I think it may mean "hyper grace." Wars rage in the BDF over it.

Woman, where have you been? That was more like a month ago. It's stickied in the BDF..
Hmmm, yes, now I have seen the thread and read it, it does say four weeks ago, interesting! Because there is still Angela's thread going, though I see another locked, and one other that was created not too long ago has disappeared  A couple of lines stood out in the posts explaining why this topic was no longer going to be tolerated. Perhaps you can appreciate the humor of this line: I am not going to dress you personally at this time... Yes, that got a bit of a chuckle out of me. On a more serious note: We (Christian Chat) believe that the doctrine of Hyper-Grace as preached by some "big name" pastors is just as much in error as the legalism pushed by others. Yeah, that sums it up nicely. And: Simply put, in recent months it seems that every other thread in this forum has ended up hijacked to the law vs grace vs hyper-grace subject and we have had numerous users leave the site because of the non-stop contention caused by it. Well, I am glad they have put their foot down about it. As to where I have been? Yeah, I have not been as present in the BDF recently. The News Forum became irresistible to me after the election, plus I have not been well. :(
