The klingons were doing nothing but pushing back against the expansionist federation. They just wanted to be left alone and not have their values and traditions corrupted by greedy resource hungry universalists.

Reminds me of one of my favorite moments of glory in college when I connected the Rousseauian General Will to the Borg Hive Mind in a paper and got extra points that I was not to tell any other student about.

Best professor ever.

More or less, but they mix a lot of messages in with it. Some good, some bad.

When you think about the medium of tv and that it's a pretty well established fact that at its inception, the powers that be immediately started scheming about how they could use it to program the masses to do their bidding....it's no stretch of the imagination that the stories they would tell with it would mirror real life and the designs of men. Why do you think they brazingly call it "programming"? Lol
