You err in your doctrine of justification because you know nothing about the doctrine of regeneration.
Truly Coming to Christ involves faith in His sacrifice alone for the grounds of your justification and repentance from all that contradicts the law, nature, and will of God. You have not repented of your sins in full - only in part. You've only picked and chosen what you want to repent from. You do not live a life marked by repentance and faith. Jesus preached the necessity and prescribed the outlines of His living functioning church. You claim you believe, but you have no more belief than a demon. Because if you truly believed in Jesus, you would believe in His words and you would love Him and obey Him. Jesus ordained His church, and you refuse to enter it.
I am very grateful for you posting this from Spurgeon, very grateful indeed vDane, thank you. Faith brings obediance, that is what Spurgeon says. I am now going to list wo4rd for word some of your comments in this debate. I cannot be accused of making anything up.
It isw one of striving and struggling. If a person is not struggling against sin they must be corrected.
We are commanded to put to death the deeds of the body.
I do not believe anyone can keep the law of God in any degree pleasing to God. I believe firmly that each and everyone of us including myself fails God miserably and breaks each and every one of of his commandments each day
Those whom God saves he causes them to walk in his statutes and they are from that point onward careful to keep his ordinances. This is what you are seeing in me and my striving.
Now by this we know that we know Him if we keep his commandments He who says I know Him and does not5 keep His commandments is a liar
Am I wrong or lying when I say I break the commandments of God daily
I do not have the capacity to keep any of His commandments perfectly.
We are unable to detect the hidden sin deep within our being
But the Holy Spirit reveals it to us!
My issue has been regarding what happens aftyer Gode saves a person and the new creation God makes him into. My issue concerns what a person becomes as a result of the grace of God. The changes God has wrought in his heart.
I am too wicked. I have a sinful nature and my heart is deceitfully wicked
These are all word for word your statements Dane. Conflicting statements. You say that Spurgeon says faith brings obediance. Are your statements proof of your obediance?
On the one hand you quote John to say ifd we do not keep the commandments and say we know Him(Jesus) we are a liar. You then say you break all the commandments. I believe by your own statements you have shown muddled theology at best, and a very confused Christian theology.
No. I'm afraid there is a law that has far exceeded the law of Moses. And that is the law of Christ. The law of God, in general, is the mind of God by which He judges certain things to be righteous and just, and others to be unrighteous and corrupt. What God deems good or bad is the delight of any child of God. In the Old Covenant, since God ordained the law of Moses, the saints loved the law and it was their delight. In the New Covenant, Christ has ordained His law that fulfills and surpasses the law of Moses, and it is the delight of the children of God.
The law of Moses forbade murder but not hatred.
The law of Moses forbade adultery but not lust.
The law of Moses allowed divorce and polygamy.
The law of Moses required 10%.
The law of Moses required a Levitical priesthood.
The law of Moses required animal sacrifices.
The law of Moses required sabbath observance.
The law of Moses required circumcision.
The law of Christ forbids hatred and murder.
The law of Christ forbids lust and adultery.
The law of Christ does not allow for divorce (except in the case of infidelity) or polygamy
The law of Christ requires 100%.
The law of Christ establishes the church as the priesthood.
The law of Christ establishes Christ as the ultimate sacrifice.
The law of Christ establishes complete rest and peace in Christ with God.
The law of Christ requires spiritual circumcision of the heart.
If Paul said that he would not be enslaved to anything, why haven't you struggled to be freed from being enslaved to smoking?
I have said, as Paul, that we are under the law of Christ. I then said being under the law of Christ is not the same as being under the law of Moses. Being under the law of Moses means you have to satisfy the demands of the law, and being under the law of Christ means the opposite - the demands have been satisfied in Christ alone. Being under the law is believing in Christ and obeying Him from the heart on the basis of love - "If you love Me, keep my commandments."

Why do you run from legitimate Scriptures?
Read the sermon on the mount - there are boatloads of commandments there too. Jesus declared that if you continue lusting you will go to Hell; if you continue to hate, you will go to Hell. Jesus said only those who do the will of God will enter Heaven, and those who practice lawlessness will be thrust into Hell. He said those who are wise are those who hear His word and do it. James declared that faith without works is dead. John said the one who does not practice righteousness is a child of the devil. The writer of Hebrews commanded us not to forsake the fellowship of saints, and that if we continue sinning after knowing the truth, the only thing awaiting us is the fiery judgment of God. Paul said no adulterer, fornicator, homosexual, idolater will go to Heaven. He also said that those who practice uncleanness, lewdness, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, envy, drunkenness, will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). As you can see, far more commandments to be acknowledged than what you've laid out on the table there living!

If it is true that I have neglected your posts, why do you feel it is right for you to do the same? If I have truly been neglecting you, why would you return the same back? Are you not 50 or so years old? Do you not have more maturity to lead by example?
