How does one take back his hanging friend requests?
On your friend's list, under the user name, it will say "friendship request pending" if they haven't accepted it already. Just uncheck their name and click "save changes" at the bottom.

So 2-3 days it was very cold with a lot of wind. Yesterday it was 70 degrees. Today it's cold again. New York make up your mind.

Texas has a couple of fall days.

Then it ran away. But today is gorgeous.

Hey guys, Do you think refrigerator locks are a good thing to have with young children? We don't have alcohol or anything like that, it's just that my kids just take and take and take. Cheese and butter and mushrooms and whatever they want. The problem is that those things are expensive here. I don't know what to do. Plus they leave the door open.

YOU are the one who has pulled forward zombie threads in several forums, rather often replying to people who have been banned or left the site. Not all zombie threads are beneficial enough to pull forward.. All you have to do is look at the create date of the thread, and check the profile of who you're responding to, to see if they have been banned, left the site, or haven't been online for quite awhile. If you don't want to be criticized for pulling zombie threads forward, then stop doing it..easy as that..

Zombie threads? You mean like rotten clothes only zombies will wear? Pulling those threads forward may not be the best idea. Blech. :p

You know who you are. You think you are soo much more mature than others for whatever reason. It is so easy to gang up on someone new and different from you and your peers. What do you gain from this? Why do you seem to get a kick out of like a high school gang picking on the helpless? Is this what you call christian?
It's just an insecure clique mode that's all, it's an adult syndrome too.

If this message is too old to be replied to, instead of criticizing the newbies who actually care to help others who may benefit from their reply, why don't you veterans/ senior members just have the moderator take it offline? Some would think you keep old posts as bait so you could bash those who reply to them with what you call zombie posts.
I've seen some of what you've replied too, it was worth it. I saw one lastest post a few months ago where the question posted was whether other people pick their noses and eat the contents or not. I'd much rather read some of the subject matters you responded too, regardless of whether the op is still present or not is irrelevant. The forums can be read by anyone online and as such have the potential to reach many, if it's a great topic that affects many lives, worthwhile replies no matter how outdate the op is, are valued in keeping it at the fore.

That is not true. CC is worldwide family of a diverse culture of people and for the most part, folks get along just fine.

Recently one of the mods posted a sticky thread in the BDF. It listed some rules which included not attacking other people and no name calling. That goes for all of us.

I have asked you to please stop attacking people with your critical summations of them, stop name calling, and to stop belittling folks about their walk in Christ, which you do quite often.

Here you are again attacking people in this thread and accusing them of forming a clique. Nobody is provoking you and yet you regularly look for opportunity to say something mean-spirited. Other people have addressed you about your negativity and yet you continue to do so. PLEASE STOP!

And btw, Laura_Charlotte, I have attempted to add you as a friend, have tried to engage in friendly correspondence with you via a few of your posts, and have also pm'd you. You ignore all of my efforts to befriend you, which is your prerogative. Which leaves me only these forums to reach out to you.

Thanks for the understanding seoul.
I was very sad to see Torus go due to all the criticism.

I very much enjoyed his posts.

I had meant to PM him with some answers to some of his questions and a bit of encouragement, but unfortunately, I was too late.

Hopefully, he will return soon at another time.

Torus, if you're reading this, take note of her welcome. I appreciate where your posts in this thread and others were coming from, try to have some perspective and get back into constructive bible study and engagement with the Lord, there's plenty on here who will happily share in that with you as they have with me over the years online and in person. Otherwise, all the best.

No wonder he didn't get it, you are supposed to send it to him through the computer, not put it in your mailbox at your house? :p

I have only been a member for 2 months, but I'm not finding veteran members to be overly aloof or unfriendly. I have also spent most of my time in the BDF which can get very heated, haha. This forum really is not that unfriendly. I've seen all these same complaints on others forums. I have been impressed by how many members regularly post in the welcome threads and inform the new members. That was a pleasant surprise when I signed up.

I do understand where Torus was coming from though and I can sympathize. It is intimidating to start posting as the new comer. If you make a mistake or two and get criticized for it, it can be embarrassing and make you feel less comfortable contributing in the future. Maybe a private message explaining the forum etiquette is a better way to steer the new member.

I also think that some new members are expecting too much too quickly. I've read a few threads from new members in which they voiced complaints about this forum and then they deleted their account right after. They aren't really giving the veteran members time to get to know them. Considering how regularly trolls sign up and spam the BDF with divisive threads and then get banned shortly after, I can't really fault members for being a bit impatient with new members who don't seem to follow forum protocol. I think we all just have to be more patient and less quick to get offended.
