I'm happy with my name, once someone is introduced to me. Even among fellow believers I am not a fan of "brother" as it tends to formalize what should be a growing family relationship - we are after all, family in Christ. My name has a job, put it to work.
I do understand that in certain settings there is an appropriate level of decorum. So employees may call me "Mr" or "sir." A young man may refer to his new girlfriends, ex-rugby star dad as "sir" or even "milord" (depending on his "fear-o-meter"). The girls father may draw a quizzical look from the lad as he calls the youngster "your dieness." Picture a behemoth blocking the front door (and a great deal of daylight) with a skillet being tossed to and fro from one dinner size plate hand to another. Just saying...
