Liver and onions for supper tonight. Mashed potatoes and gravy. Any takers? No? Good. More for me.

Every have a year where everything just really sucks all year? Yeah this is one of THOSE years.. :/ lol

So it's not just me, then.

These days, it's more like my mood tends to shift from elated to depressed or the sense of a void that I try to avoid. It's awful.

Celebrate National Liver and Onions day on May 10th!

Oops, we missed it

Did you know…

  1. Liver and onions is a favorite in the UK and in Germany, where it is usually eaten along with boiled or mashed potatoes.
  2. Lamb’s liver is the usual choice in the UK and is often accompanied by fried bacon.
  3. In the French traditional recipe the liver is fried with butter and lard.
  4. In Catalan cuisine olive oil is used, instead of butter, and fried garlic is added to the mixture.
  5. In the USA, liver and onions as a dish once enjoyed widespread popularity and could usually be found at family diners and American home-style restaurants. This meal is currently more common to the cuisines of the southern and upper mid-western foods. https://foodimentary.com/2012/05/10/may-10-national-liver-and-onions-day/

Let's have this for dessert:

Yeah, my Dad isn't the type to eat a Panini. I'd have to explain to him what it is, and that's about like explaining a joke - it just loses something having to go into it.

We eat calve's liver here. Milder taste. Breaded and fried just until done. Served with grilled onions and bacon. Served with homemade mashed potatoes and a brown gravy made from beef stock. A1 steak sauce on the side if you feel feisty.

That is great that you cook for your dad :D

My mother was a good cook but she may have overcooked liver :p

We had a kitchen table that sat at least twelve on a regular basis and during spring cleaning, chunks of old dried up leathery liver could always be found on the supports under the table.

We're having chicken, butter garlic chicken. My Son who'll be 11 tomorrow likes bland food. For example this morning he wanted toast, nothing on it just toasted bread. He eats waffles without syrup. He likes salad with no dressing, Hotdog's with no ketchup and popcorn with salt, no butter. Spaghetti with a tiny bit of sauce, no butter. When we go to Subway with no dressing. I hope he stay's this way. Condiments aren't always good for you. Both of my children love raw veggies and I'm really happy about that.

Will I EVER find another cat?!? :(
