At my workplace I usually work Monday through Saturday. And Sunday is NOT a day off. I don't go to my workplace but I do many things around church. So I asked she-who-makes-schedules if I could have one day a month off besides Sundays - any day, any week out of the whole month, just one day that I could have for Lynx Time.

So she-who-makes-schedules is leaving our workplace and going on to work for Nationwide. I assume she'll still be on our side... :cool: But the schedules have been a bit odd lately. Three weeks in a row I have been off on Thursdays. This caused a bit of consternation last Thursday because we had a visit from the Corporate guy. The managers were unhappy because I was not there and the guy who took my place was... how can I put this kindly...? not as competent. He did something not according to procedure and the workplace got a point taken off in the inspection because of it.

So this Thursday guess who's not working again! And guess who is once again taking my place! And guess who's going to be back for a follow-up inspection! Yeah, the managers are really unhappy but I didn't write my schedule, THEY did.

In the meantime I'm going to be enjoying my Thursday off with my father, who will be in town for three days.

Good for you Lynx! And you should tell this new guy how he should do that said thing that he messed up on. That way your company won't get another point taken away.
 
Not possible. He had Monday through Wednesday off. But the manager already (thoroughly) let him know what it was he did wrong.

It was a minor thing really - he sprayed butter on the grill before putting the eggs down but didn't spray butter over the top of them. But on inspection day they stress out about every minor thing. And if you do some minor thing wrong that gets a point taken off they really stress out... and stress you out... about it.

"Procedure" is holy writ where I work. When someone mentions procedure, as in "That's how you're supposed to do it according to procedure" you get the feeling you're supposed to genuflect or something.

At any rate, I'm glad they somehow gave me yet another Thursday off.

Why would you put butter on the eggs when the grill already has butter? I'm not being rude haha but I'm very curious. Does that help them taste better?
 
Just got home from dinner. 3 married couples. 2 singles.

It felt weird. It's like... I'm an adult or something like that. Haha

my daughter is so awesome, tonight she pulled out her loose tooth! First of the top front, so adorable. I couldn't stop giggling she was so cute! Then she did me the honor of her company till 2am, kept yawning but wouldn't go to sleep. I've had a few bad nights in a row with the ptsd and anxiety so I haven't been sleeping and when I do its nightmare city. so ive been praying and watching funny vids on youtube. Tonight my daughter had me so tickled, horse playing and watching funny cat videos. Before I had my last smoke of the night she said " I didn't want you to be alone tonight" Had me in tears dude! When I got back in she was passed out.
Even though I feel like im failing at everything, I got this wonderful kiddo, who sometimes takes more care of me than I can for her, reminding me of the plans God has for us. Plus reminding me that when I feel so alone, that im not. I ove my kiddo!

Molly, you're telling me your oven grills come pre-lined with butter? You Americans think of everything!
