Do you want me to work for your company or not? I know you see your own value but you are apparently forgetting or not respecting my potential value and what I have brought to companies in the past (hint: millions). If you mistreat me, I easily have other options - your competitors. I am tired of being used and abused by narcissistic people and will not tolerate it going forward. So can we work this out like mature, professional adults, or do I just need to move on?
Here's your hat, there's the door, what's your hurry!
Sorry, couldnt resist, just a joke. But seriously,... dont know whats going on with you, but I pray you find the peace you need to be able to see the bigger picture and let God move you to even higher ground and greater things. Not being appreciated can hurt. Jesus knows.

This giant hamburger was recently rediscovered in a box that got shoved in a closet and never got unpacked after I moved. It's a magneted memo pad.

My daughter told me we should use that for a shopping list and put maple syrup on it, since we made pancakes today and had to make do with honey. I told her that I already made a list and she should just add the syrup.

Then I got to thinking, and realized that I dreamt making the list. When in my 20's I used to dream about mundane chores all the time, then having thought I did them since I "remembered" doing so. I keep better records now, so I won't make the mistake of not paying a bill because I thought I already did...anymore.

Does anyone else dream of boring, mundane stuff like errands? Do they seem real? Oh, why can't I just have more flying dreams? Those are cool.
Oh My!!! LOL
I had to read the first couple of lines twice because I was thinking you had yourself one of mcdonalds hamburgers only yrs later unpacked!
Bah! I have seen burgers like that that are real. The burger didnt rot, kept its form, and color and they came out of mcdonalds.
Then I noticed you said it was a fridge magnet....whew!
Good news! You didnt save a petrified burger

Thanks brother. I am just so sick of it. I have seen SOOO many lost opportunities due to narcissistic and/or incompetent management driving people away. The last company I was with, I constantly tried to give them feedback on how to fix everything but instead of hearing me out and doing it, they got pissed because I made them look dumb so they continued to do things their way. Well, after 7 months of that, I couldn't take it anymore and left along with nearly every other good associate they had and the last I heard, it looks they lost their contract with the large client and will now go under; which was as predictable as the sunrise to me.

And there is no need to be so threatening all the time. I assure you, you will get much better results by simply being positive and supportive. Heck, even if you don't bother me at all, I can still shine. So why do managers insist on creating negative atmospheres? When has that ever worked? This isn't the military! Nor is this a place to show off your ego.

I'll be honest, at first it is very disheartening to deal with these situations and sometimes I let it get to me too much. But then I remember that I do have value and when it comes to my own work, I've always had tremendous success so it's just a matter of finding the proper outlet to fully utilize that without being hindered by poor management. Ideally, I want to be in a situation where I am making even more as the owner of my own business. And as you say, situations like this only push me towards that goal quicker it seems.

I created my own sour over about 4 months. To make something gluten free, you can't use any wheat, rye or barley flours, so I use my own blend of white rice, sorghum and potato flours. It doesn't work at all like wheat so to explain it here would be more than I have words for.
I know the feeling. I wrote out a recipe for sourdough bread and it took a page and a half to get in all the stuff you need to know. If you ever have time to sit down and write it, I would love a PM about it.

And real sourdough starter is the ONLY way to go. :D There's a mennonite country store near here that makes (allegedly) sourdough bread but they use packaged yeast. Feh!

I found out a trick though - you can mix up some starter with additional flour until it's about like noodle dough and it will survive in the mail. I've mailed more than one aspiring baker a blob of starter and a page-and-a-half recipe. Dunno if it would work for your GF bread starter, but you might test the concept just in case someone wants some starter someday.

Also you can spread some starter out on wax paper, let it dry, store the dried starter in a bag and have it as a fall-back in case something happens to your starter. I can't count how many people have lost starter because some well-meaning houseguest cleaned out a container of stuff thought to be ruined.

I won't have dreams like doing chores, but I've had some pretty weird dreams before. Like I've fallen asleep in my dreams that one confuses me, because I feel like someone has to be REALLY tired to dream about falling asleep.
Then in the mornings when I have to wake up, I'll dream about waking up and going to the kitchen or something. And I have had flying dreams before :D

Well... this is in my professional kitchen which isn't shared, so there's that. :)

Did you forget to tell us something?

You're not the only one who's gotten married and stayed on the singles forum.

Why, there have even been mods who did so!

I hope getting married doesn't mean we stop liking the singles forum... might not be good for me either in the future.

Sitting here, letting my 2 1/2 year old daughter brush my dangerous hair with a pink My Little Pony brush. A brush that she keeps chewing on. To be fair, she IS being gentle. But I just can't shake the feeling that this is going to end in me having to spend an hour taming down the afro she's giving me.

Um...YOLO...right?

Haaaaalp.

Not just girls. My Dad is like that, but I'm not.

I only get mad if you mess with my food. If I am eating, and you lean over and grab food or do something to me while I eat, I get frustrated.
I had a friend when we were on break from work, we would hed out to this local pretzel place. I'd get pretzel bites, and she would get nothing cause she wasn't hungry. Then while I was eating, she'd ask if she could have one. And before you know it, she would have eaten half and getting a good portion of my sauce. I even made sure to double dipping my pretzels in the sauce, just to try and discourage her from asking, but to no avail. I really wish I had the guts to tell her no back then, go get your own.

Heh. It's been SO DRY here this year. Today we got rain and the temp dropped to 65*. Off and on it poured for about 2 minutes at a time all afternoon. It smelled so nice!!

As we were leaving the market and a heavy blowy mist skittered over us, I commented to one of my friends that it sure felt like winter here. It's funny, because it really DOES feel like our winter. Gusty winds at 25 - 30 mph, wet and rainy. PERFECT.

But it cracks me up, one day to the next how little tiny changes in the temp and moisture levels change the season. Yesterday it was 75* with 88% humidity. We were all sweltering.

Oregon ... we just today got our first real rain, and gusty weather, out here on the Olympic peninsula ... my webbed feet were beginning to dry out and crack. I love the rain and wind, and 65 degrees is my favorite temperature ... both my girls now live in Portland, the youngest was a manager at the Plaza in NY, now works there to be with her sister, who just returned from Nicaragua, to go to school there fro her Masters ... they just bought a home, together, an old 106 year old classic, that needs lots of tender loving care. I might move to Portland, someday ...

Yeah, I live 2 hours south of you and it was really windy and wet but we sure did need it. The air smells so much cleaner. I love the rain and living in Oregon. It's nice to meet a fellow Oregonian

My daughters are, and son inlaw (who just graduated as a PA) ... I'm still up here in Washington, from my treehouse 30 feet up in the largest madrona tree in the county, I can see the Space Needle in Seattle ... some winter days, when the storms really blow in off the coast, I put my yellow slicker on, grab a bottle of cheap wine and my boombox (do they still call it that?), and ride out the storm in that tree house, while listening to Jim Morrison. When I finally come in to the house, drenched to the bone, my cheeks hurt from smiling and singing along, while no one can hear me ... like a dog without a bone, riders on the storm.

I thought she meant to actually pour maple syrup on it.

Transposing music is almost my life. For real. lol
Transposing or transcribing?

In other news, here is your "El-Paso-Culture-In-A-Nutshell" comment for the evening:

"You're 37? How you a 37-year old man and no kids?"
