I agree so much, but also understand their view as well. To them we are just attacking their truth. To most truth is subjective to the person anyway. It's no different than the atheist, us Christians challenge their whole worldview and what they perceive as truth. Same with any group or false religion. The thing is they think they have a right to believe whatever they want and so does everyone else, and “who are we to tell anyone what to believe?”, I know I thought the same way as a professing Christian. They think like "I have my beliefs and you have yours, can't we just let each other alone about it?". It's the assumption that all beliefs are equal, and is the biggest reason most the world hates Jesus so much, and are more tolerant of every other religion in the world. A great example is the “peaceful” religion of Islam and the way so many call for the acceptance and toleration of it while bashing Christians and calling them terrorist for opposing gay marriage in a truly peaceful manner. What they don't understand is how when the Holy Spirit indwells you it reveals the TRUTH of God and His only son Jesus. It lets us KNOW that He is real and that Jesus Christ is the only way to be reconciled to Him.
Most see Christianity as a blind belief we accept despite all the facts to the contrary, they just don’t understand that Christianity is the ONLY belief system that doesn’t require blind belief. I know this because I thought the same way as a “Christian”, I thought Jesus was a great role model of how we should behave, and Christianity was a set of basic rules that if followed would result in a decent life. When you don’t KNOW God is real and you haven’t been regenerated by His undeniable and powerfully amazing grace, then you just think that everyone has a right to believe whatever they want, and would never be arrogant enough to say what “someone else” believes is false. It baffles them why those of us that have been shown the ultimate truth of God would say they are wrong, and they see it as us being hateful, bigoted, and unfair. The thing is once you have this Spirit it WILL lead you to all truth, and when you see others following a false trail you want to warn them, not in hate at all, even though emotions can run high when speaking on this subject, but in love because you know the God that saved you wants to save everyone else as well. It’s just a hard thing to do no matter who you’re talking to.
