I'm going to go with Project 86 despite being part hard rock/part metal. Early on, at Vanguard, when they successfully made the transition from Christian rapcore to Christian heavy rock and metal, I had the opportunity to meet them and put them in touch with a friend of mine who owned and operated a recording studio and knew AR people. They recorded some demos with him but chose their own path with respect to signing.
I have to say these guys had some of the highest integrity I've ever met. There was zero BS with them. They said what they did and did what they said with one hundred percent honesty. When people came up and tried to tell them they were great, they would gently tell them to direct any praise to God for they needed to maintain a right spirit. You actually feel deeply loved with God's agape love around these guys and that's unfortunately something that few bands are able to accomplish.
