That's not good, do you think maybe a nice cup of tea and doing something relaxing would help?
Why are you so stressed, Lil_Christian?
I ended up sleeping because I couldn't handle being awake. >.< This week marks one year since my mom died. I've been a terrible mess.

Oh HONEY! I am so sorry to hear that. It will be I hope, a very small comfort to hear that completing that year is really difficult and yet things ease a bit... I know this from my own grief as well as hearing other people's experiences. I know it's not much.

Love to you and prayers on your behalf.

OK....sooooooo I never had the "talk" and I fail to understand what the birds and bees have to do with "the talk", or are birds and bees doing stuff I never imagined they could do? Honestly, I don't understand, but I'm going to shut up before I get myself or anyone else in trouble

So, I never got "the talk" either. You know, I think males in general don't usually going get the talk. We're just supposed to figure out things ourselves - which I would say isn't too hard except i went to grammar school afterall. I got a lot of mixed messages. For a while there I got the whole egg/ovary thing mixed up in my head and wouldn't eat breakfast for months. But girls always seem to have mom's and they're hanging out in her bedroom and playing with dolls and talking about school and mom says "you know, honey, there's going to be a time when you begin to flower into a beauuuuutiful woman. Aaaaannnnd..... but males - nothing. Just equipment without an instruction manual.

I imagine my dad being more embarrassed about giving the talk than me getting it. And yeah! Why is it women are warned about men being dogs, but men are never warned about women being cray cray?!

Quote from a Loony Toons show where the kid read racy magazines:

"Son, it's time we had a little talk."

"Sure Pop. What do ya want to know?"

I think some parents just don't want to make the conversation awkward.
But I know if I ever had children, it would be brought up incidentally most likely by something I inappropriately withdraw from the conversation or accidentally say.
And then things would never be the same.

My Mom read a book with me (specifically designed for parents having "the talk" with their kids) when I was 9 years old.

I remember stopping mid-sentence after reading "THE CRUCIAL MOMENT", crinkling up my nose, and saying to her, "I just don't see how the parts would fit!!!"

She smiled at me, nearly patting me on the head, and said, "Oh believe me, honey, they do!!!"

She and my Dad have been together since they were teenagers, and never had any other significant other but each other. I guess I could trust that she knew what she was talking about! :)

Colloquial expressions are funny. I never know whether to spit or wind my watch when I hear one.
