Kind of gathered that from Fox 4 in KC this morning. My son was just down there a couple days ago wrapping up a wireless networking contract he had with several SBC churches down there. He's got an electronics company. Said he was in that area at one of the churches just off the highway. Glad he left before it hit.

He's your age, by the way. Going to be 28 in July. He hasn't found "the one" like you have, though.

(By the way, the only people who call me "sir" are the guys who used to be in my unit in the Army. You weren't there, so "Mike" is sufficient.)
Oh my bad. Sorry "Mike" lol

it got pretty ugly here last night and I'm glad my boss let us close early so we could get away from the bad weather. I am beyond blessed to have my husband by my side. It took God to bring us together TWICE before he finally "popped the question". I was ready way before he was for the commitment. But I understand it takes some guys longer to mature than most ;)

i hope your son finds "the one" before you get TOO old and grey ;) :p

hehe... Just teasin ya

I'm too stubborn to get old, though "grey" happened some time ago. I think it was raising two kids by myself that did it.

Or maybe it had something to do with 12,813 hours as a combat helicopter pilot. I'm sure my kids would vote for that one.

Yes. We are really Panhandle Rednecks. It's Spring Break down here. I'm really glad that we live in the woods a few miles away. After growing up with a alcoholic father, I stay away from the moonshiners. Yes, there are still a few around here.

You're too old to join the Army, so ...

... are you moving into assisted living?
The Army turned me down, I had to join the Navy. If you call living with Mama (wife) for about 55 years, assisted living.

I'm sure Willie knows of a few in the Ozarks, too. No Duke boys around, though.

You kiddin'? That's the best "assisted living" there is! May our friend LittleBit learn of its beneficience.

I'll never be able to lay claim to 55 years with the love of my life, however. I didn't find her until I was 60. We make up for lost time, though.

By the way some of you here know that I've been on fluid restrictions due to low blood sodium for a long time. I'm titrating from the seizure medication that is causing it to another medication. I've been limited to one small cup of coffee ever morning. I'll be off the old medication in six weeks, and I plan to recover every lost mug then.

Billy let us know how the titration goes! I'm trying to get off prednisone right now. The trouble is, I seem to need it! But I need to be off before I see my rheumatologist in April, so he sees how bad I am and how the drug I am on isn't working.

So I am studying German and really enjoying it. It is supposed to be good for the brain to learn a new language. Wards off dementia. I want to do my Ph.D and I need two modern languages and two Biblical languages. I am good with the Hebrew and Greek, and fluent in French, if I brush it up. So I decided if I was serious, I need to spend a few hours a day on the German, so I can write an advanced placement exam, and get into some higher level on-line courses before I start the Ph.D Or if I start it!

If you notice I am not on-line as much, well, es geht mir gut!

I'm sure we are all glad to hear that.

Since most threads seem to have trouble staying on topic I thought I would simply start one that has no topic and just see where it goes. So, in that vein, Speak Your Mind.
I believe what you did was allow people to share like we normally would through the coarse of a day. The evidence is incredible. I hadn't considered that a thread would blow up like this, and how many likes given in constructive thought?
