Mind giving the link/source you found this from? I have a hard time believing that, considering that we still haven't had successful cloning and reverse/stop cell process to reduce aging. I don't think I'd want them anyway, even though I wouldn't get it if they did exist.

The place I originally heard about it was from Fareed Zakaria's podcast. (It's a great one if you like keeping up on current events.) You can listen to the episode here.

Thanks Lil, often times I am uncertain if I'm doing tue right things with my kids, especially since my Son is so sensitive and my Daughter is very strong willed.
 
So.today at Preschool, work, the kid's painted pictures of clouds. One little boy who likes things his way wanted black paper not blue. I watched him painting and asked, what's the cloud going to be? He said, A white piece of paper because blue is dumb. He painted the whole paper white, I guess because blue is dumb.

so in filling out an app for a trucking company, everything is great until I get to the personal reference..

rut ro. name no prob, city state no prob. how long i have known them no prob.

phone number. problem..... I don't call people. its ether e-mail or you contact me. so now I got to wait and wait and wait for someone to get back to me with their number.
 
I'm currently watching "The Theory of Everything", not from the perspective of supporting Stephen Hawking's scientific theories (which I'm too dense to fully understand anyway), but rather, from the perspective of watching a married couple deal with a life-changing, as well as life-threatening, illness.

If I had even half the strength of what Mrs. Hawking has in her little pinky (caring for children AND a husband who literally can do nothing for himself), I would be a person who is 1000 times more effective than I am now. It's just very sobering (and depressing) to know that in real life, he left his wife to marry another woman.

This movie makes me want to lobby for and donate to making every public place easily accessible to the differently-abled.

And Eddie Redmayne is, by far, one of the most phenomenal actors I've ever seen. Completely amazing, and heartbreaking.

No special effects or computer generated imagery needed here to create an honest portrayal of a seemingly impossible situation.

I'm reminded of a Super Chicken episode where the king of India (it was a kids cartoon) shipped elephants all over the earth to upset the earth's balance so they would have snow in India. (I TOLD you it was a kids cartoon...) As I recall it succeeded, and everyone in India got snow. But they weren't accustomed to the cold so they all caught a cold. Kleenex were in high demand on the black market for three weeks.

You teach them and you could swear they don't hear a word. You try to set a good example and they don't seem to be watching. Then years later, out of the blue they do something that shows they WERE paying attention! :D :D :D As a Children's Church teacher this is one event/feeling I can share with parents.
 
I want to learn to sleep properly again. It's been a few months since I've had a proper, restful sleep.

I'm sure his wife is an amazing person and all but the beef I have with stephen hawking is how he is trying to tell the world that the universe doesn't need a God to exist or to sustain itself.

The ending made me sad. His wife's faithfulness and loyalty to him deserved more than for him to stray from her literally the first time a woman seemed interested in him. Any respect I had for him was gone at that point. :(
 
I do need God, but how do I show people that? Especially when I still struggle with the question of what kind of loving God stands on the sidelines while your mother dies and you're crying for her to be spared?

How can others understand if I don't even understand?
