Well, sometime we may have to be a little creative in our answers. For example; I have an old friend who is also a retired preacher and he once told me a story about a small city were he was the new preacher and on Sunday a young lady brought them a home-baked pie to welcome them to the congregation. He said when they took the pie home it was absolutely awful. He said it was so bad they simply could not eat it so they threw it in the trash. The following Sunday the young lady asked how they liked that pie and my friend responded simply, "A pie like that sure doesn't last long around our house." The young lady went away delighted.

ROFLMHO X 2 ......... lol

That was perfect, besides, love is not rude, and if someone makes you something (by way of food) receiving it gracefully and with thanksgiving is the way to go.

I think we would have less "preferences" if we were less spoiled (or not as full as we are). That does play into alot of our likes and dislikes whereas someone from another country (who are starving) probaly wouldnt need to think twice about what left their mouths in repects to someones gesture like that.

I think you answered perfectly.

LOL. Well, it wasn't me. It really was an old friend of mine sharing one of his preaching experiences with me at the coffee shop.

i had this idea for a thread, but.........

i hope here, i may safely say i think it's sad when Christians believe 'their' good works are some kind of transaction between them and God. :(

Christ has made the vertical relationship between us and God forever fixed.
It is finished. :)

now we are free to look around us and see what someone else might need.
love God. and love God by serving our neighbor.
that's why (i believe) the overwhelming majority of commands in the NT are horizontal.

sorry.
sermon over. :)

women ask that question because we're silly, insecure creatures.

and btw---when we get all chicked out, it ain't for you men,
we do it for all the other women who we might see.
because we're also terribly, terribly judgmental of one another. :(

It's not just the women who are overly concerned with appearances, sad to say. And before I get flooded with PM's, let me be clear that I'm already taken

When I was a child, my grandmothers best friend said to her..." Now Irene, you know my biscuits are fluffier than yours!". Lol, my grandmother replied..." That's your tale,...I sit on mine!". hahaha
