I went to church with a friend. She told me that her grandparents ran the church. I did not think that her grandma was the pastor. I have heard of women being pastors but have never seen one. I may have said something that made her a little upset. She said to me if men were doing what they were suppose to be doing taking care of their families and being men there would be no dissicuson or need for women pastors! Does it make it right if there is a need for pastors?

She is right...its mens fault and its mans shame that women have to stand in the place God called men to... Now whether this woman is really called of God? I don't know?

I'm biblically qualified and Bible school trained myself. Its common to not get pastor because of competition.

Also I know a denom or fellowship that picks men out of the churches and disciples them at church and sends them out as pastor church planters. They dont take women and theyre never short of plenty of men. The real problem? Political correctness. Bible schools are taking lots of women leaving less men. But really its political over biblical.

The thing is that it is a false understanding to say if men would stand up then women would not have to be pastors.
The one underlining thing that will continue to be debated do to a major cover up from during the early church days, and especially from the Catholic church. Is that there was women apostles, leaders, and pastors back in the bible days of the apostles. People will continue to debate this though mainly on a misuse scriptures by Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:34, and 1 Timothy 2:12. At first glance one would take these that women can not apostles or preachers, however the bible mentions women apostles and that are leaders of their congregation.

It's not a lie. The truth is, big churches have a surplus of preachers wanting positions while churches 100 & smaller have a shortage. The problem is most ministers won't consider the smaller churches because they are hirelings. Sounds harsh but it's true.

No its clear in the Bible that women cant. Youre talking about the Greek name arguement of the gender of those briefly mentioned (not as apostles, but as "among" the apostles) couple of mysterious little known about people. Thats highly debateable.

Couple good points here and some know it all. As for me I know one woman here who I would absolutely love to hear preach. men's role woman's role...how about God's role? What if God really does call a woman to preach and she is the best qualified? Shoot ill listen and learn. God spoke through a donkey but a woman cant preach? Ok that makes sense. The woman I know here is more knowledgeable and able than some "men" pastors that read their sermon from a pamphlet. It is actually amusing watching someone debate her on biblical knowledge (I have learned much from her) but oops she can't preach? Sit and listen to her you will change your mind on women preaching :)

No. They get passed over because they aren't the right person for the church or they don't know Scripture. Plain and simple facts of churches choosing a pastor down to those two things. If any other reason the church isn't picking a pastor correctly.

No that is just one misconception that people use for their circular thinking that women can not be apostles, yet Paul mentions more than one female as either an apostle, leader, deacon, and so on in the church in his epistles.
Priscilla and Phoebe was two of them, and the controversial Junia.

Every Greek and Latin church Father until Giles of Rome (circa 1000 CE) acknowledged that Junia was a woman. After that time, various writers and translators of the Bible resorted to various deceptions in order to suppress her gender.

Examples of changes made;

The Amplified Bible translates this passage as "They are men held in high esteem among the apostles" The Revised Standard Versionshows it as "they are men of note among the apostles". The reference to them both being men does not appear in the original Greek text. The word "men" was simply inserted by the translators, apparently because the translators' minds recoiled from the concept of a female apostle.

Many translations, including the Amplified Bible, Rheims New Testament, New American Standard Bible, and the New International Version simply picked the letter "s" out of thin air, and converted the original "Junia" (a woman's name) into "Junias" (a male form of "Junia"). Again, it was probably inconceivable to the translators that Paul would recognize a woman as an apostle. Incidentally, there are no Junias' mentioned in ancient literature and inscriptions; it was apparently an unkown and unused name.

Then you also have Euodia and Syntyche mentioned in Philippians.................

Paul's rules are Christ's rules.

†. 1Cor 14:37 . . If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let
him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the
commandments of The Lord.

†. 1Ths 4:1-2 . .We beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord
Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please
God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments
we gave you by the Lord Jesus.

Below are a some of Christ's rules.

†. 1Tim 2:11-14 . . A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I
do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must
be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one
deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

†. 1Cor 14:34-35 . . Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is
not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under
obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn anything, let them ask
their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Compliance with Christ's rules are the acid test of one's loyalty to God's son.

†. John 14:15 . . If you love me, you will comply with what I command.

†. John 14:21 . .Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one
who loves me.

†. John 14:23-24 . . If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching . . He who
does not love me will not obey my teaching.

†. John 15:14 . .You are my friends if you do as I wish.

Women who circumvent Christ's rules by means of sophistry and/or rationalizing
are no better than pagan heathens.

†. 1Sam 15:22-23 . . Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken
than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and
stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
