there's a sequel coming out. will you see it with me?

:)

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The way you mentioned it like a movie with a financial meltdown, makes me think we're all in a movie - Generation Zero.
Anyways...

I pray you will find wisdom and understanding to get out of your situation. :)
Hi, G4JC.

Believe me, my "MANIFOLD temptations" or trials have extended way beyond the financial realm and I hope that I'm not sounding like some sort of crybaby by mentioning them. IOW, I recognize that I live in a fallen world and that I'm involved in a spiritual war and so I'm not expecting, not even for a moment, some sort of easy life here on earth prior to Christ's second coming. I've focused primarily on the financial aspect of my trials in this thread because certain things are about to come to a head very, very soon if I don't receive some specific wisdom and grace from God in that area a.s.a.p. In fact (and I think that I mentioned this on another thread), my "temptations" or "trials" are in my own home and even with my own wife who conspired with one of my own sisters a few years back in an attempt to take our three children away from me permanently. I had to appear in court to defend myself (believe me, GOD is my defense) and I won my case handily, but I'm still together with my wife and that's no easy (again, I'm not complaining) situation in that she rises up every time that I try to teach our own children the Bible...and teach them I do.

Anyhow, I'm really not looking for pity from anybody here in that trials are part of the Christian life, but rather for God to grant me the wisdom and grace which I so desperately need right now (and always, for that matter) to either endure or overcome the same and also for God to continue to allow such "fires" to purify me from whatever "needs" ("if need be") to be dealt with that I might be "meet for the Master's use":

II Timothy chapter 2

[19] Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
[20] But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
[21] If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
[22] Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Anyhow, thanks for your prayers. They're much appreciated.

I've spent a little time going over your background; reviewing previous threads and posts. The one in which you told of your conversion was enlightening, as was just getting an overall tenor of your 'theology'. So was hearing you apologize for something two people then said you didn't really have to. Kinda showed your overall tenor of humility. Having (at least tried to) get a sense of you, one thing stands out in my mind:

I've always said that you can tell how powerful one might be in the realm of God by how hard hell works to hold them under.

You have gifts that make you a real threat to the enemy. So be not surprised when they make real attacks upon you. These will pass but more will come - and they will escalate. To be honest, until we are out of here that's how it's going to be. Or, until you no longer pose them a threat. Which I imagine will be until the day you are out of here.

It's all faith in dealing with such things (read Matthew's accounts of the powers of faith http://christianchat.com/blogs/rickyz/6714-power-faith.html). Be founded on the rock that God is real. You know that, and that no matter how much mud they fling your way that will always be true. Sometimes when I'm at my spiritual wit's end I face my demons and say what, even if you broke me and I denied Christ was real it wouldn't change the fact that He is. Then I tell them to take it up with Him, as it's His authority anyway not mine. And sure they may be gone. But there's always more on the way. I try to keep them at bay by coming here ;). Keep doing what you are doing, and more, and know that eventually (God says it's all in the perseverance) they will be permanently silenced and bound. Stick that in their face when they get pushy.

If I may ask, how do you pray? Do you believe in the Spiritual gifts and fruit?

God bless you and protect you!
Hi, RickyZ.

Well, I'm glad that you find some humility in me/my posts because I've been posting on different forums for about 10 years now and I've been called everything in the book during that timeframe. You know, "proud", "arrogant", "self-righteous", "a Pharisee", "condescending", etc., etc., etc. Anyhow, the "fires" that I've been enduring are intended to have a purify effect and PRIDE is certainly a killer which I regularly address in my own life. We truly are not our own in that we've been bought with a price and I'm sincerely trying to get to the place (and I am getting there...slowly but surely) where I truly love THE LORD with my whole heart, soul and strength or to the place where it's truly "not my will, BUT THINE BE DONE". Anything less than that, in my estimation (and I believe in God's estimation, too), reveals some yet undealt with area or areas of PRIDE. God's Word says that it is our "reasonable service" to be "living sacrifices"...and I think/know that there's still some life of my own that God is seeking to deal with that Christ might be the One Who fully lives, reigns and operates both in and through me:

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

Regarding your "faith" quotes from Matthew's gospel, again, I'm familiar with them all. Interestingly enough, whenever I need a "refresher course" in "faith", Matthew's gospel is generally the first place where I head for the same. Isn't it amazing that Jesus rebuked Peter for not having enough "faith" TO WALK ON WATER?!? Seriously, God expects us to REALLY have faith. He also got angry with the children of Israel for not believing that He could PART THE RED SEA. Anyhow, I'm trying to get to the place where I believe God for everything...and I've honestly reached the place where I thank God for my next breath. Apart from Him, we can do nothing...not even breathe.

I most definitely believe in spiritual gifts and fruit...even though, if forced to choose between the two (and we can and should have them both), then I would choose the "fruit" over the "gifts" in that people can have "gifts" and not be bearing good "fruit" at the same time and I believe that Paul addressed as much with the church at Corinth. I might be mistaken, but since you asked how I pray, I'm kind of guessing that you're inquiring whether or not I "pray in the Spirit". Before I answer that question, I will say this:

God has used me in the area of deliverance (the casting out of demons in Jesus' Name) for twenty something years now, so you'd better believe in spiritual gifts if you're going to be involved in such a spiritual battle.

Anyhow, as controversial as what I'm about to say might be, I do believe that there is a legitimate gift of speaking in tongues (I'm guessing that you're asking about the same in relation to prayer, but I could be mistaken) and that there is also a counterfeit of the same. Paul wrote:

II Corinthians chapter 11

[1] Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
[2] For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
[3] But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
[4] For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

I'm firmly convinced (unshakably so) that Satan has beguiled multitudes with "another Jesus", "ANOTHER SPIRIT" and "another gospel" and that the three counterfeits work in conjunction together. IOW, when somebody embraces "another Jesus" Who is not the Jesus of scripture and "another gospel" which is not the true gospel, then there is inevitably "ANOTHER SPIRIT" behind the same. Anyhow (here comes the controversy), I've actually cast spirits of false tongues out of people in Jesus' Name on more than one occasion. Again, this does NOT mean that I don't believe in a true gift of tongues, but it most certainly does mean that I believe that multitudes have embraced the counterfeit.

Well, I hope that this thread doesn't turn into a discussion on doctrine...but I am more than willing to discuss anything on a thread dedicated to any topic.

Anyhow, thanks for your comments and blessing.

When I think back on my past (which I rarely do as I "forget those things which are behind"), then it's truly nothing less than the mercy and grace of God that I'm even still alive today. I really was a maniac back then...and only God will ever know just how much of a maniac. Thank God for REPENTANCE and the "new birth"...and the cross of Jesus which makes it all possible.

Brother, I have read your testimony and am thankful that you are with us today!
Thinking of that fat tumor, fat was burnt as a sacrifice. While sometimes it stands for a blessing and prosperity - fat commonly symbolizes sin in the Bible, and that is why it is burnt. God took the chaff out of you in the name of Jesus!

Okay you really did put that one into a nutshell well, that was definately the short version but you reduced well. And praise our great God, because your testimony really showed how far in the gutter you were and how far you have come in Christ by Him.

Even as Jesus did say, There was a certain creditor which had two debtors (the one owing just a little and the other far more then the other) your like the one who owed the more, even as He asked Simon, which of them will love him most? And Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

I always loved that. And I know you love Him.

God bless you in Christ and be your provision in this time, and again, Im here for you, if I can help, please the door is open I would be glad to.

Peace to you

Hi, SoulWeaver.

I deliberately didn't mention this in my testimony because I didn't want to be too long-winded, but the location of that fatty tumor was EXTREMELY relevant. You see, for years (as in MANY) leading up to that, I always had this fear of being beheaded (and I might be before everything is said and done) and I actually slept on my back for years (as in MANY) with a pillow lying across my chest with one end of it covering my neck. As such, when this thing just appeared on my neck out of nowhere (it wasn't there when I left for work that morning)...well, it pretty much freaked me out. I think that God has a way of getting our attention...

Yeah, that was the "short version", but I really don't want to somehow "glorify" my old sinful way of life of which I would now be ashamed. That being said, I do love Christ...and I almost just burst into tears just thinking about it. Yep, big, mean old "JesusistheChrist" is really just a big softie at heart. Who woulda thunk it? lol.

As far as "the door being open" is concerned, you might find me sleeping under your front deck some time soon...lol.

I dont even make my dogs stay outside LOL

You could come inside, I do have spare rooms

And I actually cried reading it in short again, and not just almost, I did, as God is my witness by Christ I did, I cant imagine you in that kind of shape today and it is really amazing to see how far down God can reach down and lift us up.

He didnt bring you this far to drop you off the edge of a cliff, that much you can be sure of.

Others might want to at times (LOL!) but thats not His plans for you.

Our God richly bless you, peace to you

Revelation chapter 22

[14] Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
[15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

I know that "dogs" was used here in an analogous manner to describe sinners, but the analogy doesn't work unless dogs were normally outside. Anyhow, I'm sorry...but your comment just brought that verse back to my remembrance.

ISeeYou said:

Believe me, I seek to comfort myself by saying/thinking the same thing daily. If I was to die at this point in time, then, even if I ultimately entered God's kingdom, I'd be the most miserable person there. IOW, I truly have sought Christ for the last 26+ years and sought to set myself apart for Him and His purposes and if I leave this world without making some sort of impact for Christ first, especially when I see how lost most of the world is, then I'd honestly feel as if my life was in vain.

I'm thinking of buying one of those machines that gives out numbers like you see at the Deli section at the supermarket.

Hey, with all of the battles that I've involved in here recently in relation to "MYSTERY BABYLON" and "the lake of fire", the book of Revelation is very much on my mind these days. Beyond that, you're right...I just can't help myself...PRAISE GOD!

Now I might not understand how (by offering you a place to reside) inside our home (instead of outside of it) under the deck (as it relates to our own dogs ) and how your former commenting (which was outside of my context) should be understood alongside your own current battles against certain teachings you dont agree with.

Ya lost me there

Not that I dont praise God for others (even you) just as I do others but ya lost me on that one.

If explaining it makes it worse dont attempt it LOL

I was simply saying that I've recently been involved in some discussions which pertain to things contained in the book of Revelation ("MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT", "the lake of fire", etc.), so the book of Revelation is fresh in my mind. As such, when you mentioned "dogs", it just made me think of that verse in Revelation which pertains to "dogs being without".

That's all...I'm not too deep...except in doo-doo (most of the time)...lol.
