Well, I guess you deserved it.I feel like as a cruel joke, gas stations add additional questions before you get to pump your gas in the winter.
1.) Credit or Debit?
2.) Would you like to save an additional $.05 using your debit card?
3.) Loyalty Card?
4.) Would you like to use your $.20 off?
5.) Would you like a Car Wash?
Meanwhile, I'm waiting at the pump like...

Just saw a commercial for a dating site for farmers. Their tag line 'Because city folk just don't get it'.
No joke. Real thing.
i am entirely fascinated by the general misnomer that some have that farmers are dumb. especially considering that it requires far more intelligence in ingenuity to survive and make a living as a farmer?
do you realize that the vast majority of jobs are created by the products generated by farmers and the industries they support?
as someone who grew up exclusively in a rural environment, around farmers and ranchers, if i had to only choose between "city" folk and a farmer/rancher on the basis of what those labels infer, require and represent, i'd pick the farmers and ranchers, every single time.
some of the most admirable people i've known would fall under the "farmer" category. when i think of them and the many farmers and ranchers i've known, i think of these qualities that existed with the majority of them:
+hard working
+a deep appreciation and respect for God's handiwork and creation
+"life hackers" who survive on their ability create and find solutions because their livelihood depends upon it
+simple, not "simple dumb" but simple, as in beautifully uncomplicated
+take a great deal of pride in being part of the community and the value they provide to others
+loyal, dependable, and a good understanding of integrity
+concerned about others, and eager to help their neighbors in need
i dunno. if i found myself inclined to date on a website, i could think of many worse groups to target. : )
its not a joke, you just dont get you city slicker. lol
to call them at risk for inbreeding seemed akin to calling them foolish, dim-witted people who lack a basic understanding of inbreeding and or the consequences of such. in fact, it's your farmers and ranchers who probably have a far superior understanding of the benefits of a varied gene pool than most, considering it a basic necessity to many growth-driven operations (crops or livestock).Did I say something that implied farmers were unintelligent? Or was I just the last post on the topic when you started writing? My point was simply that there are a small number of farmers and having them only marry and reproduce with each other would be a very small gene pool for future farmers to come from. That means a greater chance for all sorts of nasty recessive traits to emerge. And as I like food, I think our farmers should be kept as healthy and stuff as possible. Their good is our good etc.
And I do agree with you, it's a stereotype but I'd feel much more initially confident about a guy's values if I knew he was a farmer or from a rural area than if I knew he'd lived in a city all his life. Of course once I got to know him, I'd know if he fit the stereotypes or not.

Sometimes I strongly dislike people.
So this is why i hear the Singles section has become like the bible discussion forums do to pointless arguing.

Some Christian brothers and sisters I'm very close with and thought were better than all that, have been spreading rumors about me concerning a sensitive area of my life at the moment. What is this bull? We're all adults, this isn't high school! It's just unsettling and saddening.
I am sorry about this TinTin.......we are sinful humans though you know that right? Not that it is an excuse or that those doing harm should be doing that either.....Prayers with you for healing and our sister too. It is hard when your life is put on public display and can be hurtful I am so very sorry you are going through this.

at best, it didn't sound like a compliment, or even neutral in nature.
also, i disagree about the "small gene pool". in fact, there are over 2 million farms in this country alone.
i'd say that's a decent sized pool of candidates.
Not sure why you say you're immature. You don't seem immature at all. More like the complete opposite.
I once had a pastor say something along the lines of.. "You should always love someone but that doesn't mean you have to like them". It almost sounds silly at first but it got me thinking. Even if someone displays a behavior we do not like the love part we have for them would be us not wanting something horrible to happen to them. And even if we could wish something bad against them we probably wouldn't.
I know what its like to dislike people. Mainly on my part because I'm young and immature. I'm not wise enough to know how to handle certain people and I'm not patient with them like I should be. I find that those I dislike act in such a negative way. But then I realize our outer actions show what we are facing on the inside, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Those who are disliked because of their negative actions need more love.
I've been thinking about someone who I've been frustrated at because they can kinda come off mean or stubborn. As much as I'd like to walk away I can't because I'd be a hypocrite being that I've been difficult before. That person is dealing with things of their own.
I know the feeling. Not me personally, but a friend was engaged to his lady love, and as a precaution against rumors they asked the lady's best friend to be present while they were at their new house getting it ready to move into when they married. This best friend, whos presence was supposed to forestall rumors, then started spreading rumors of her own. Bleh. Some Christian brothers and sisters I'm very close with and thought were better than all that, have been spreading rumors about me concerning a sensitive area of my life at the moment.
