And then there was the time we had a guest speaker and the little girl in church requested prayer for her guinea pigs because the one was pregnant and the parents were brother and sister and she didn't want the babies to have any problems. Guest pastor prayed a powerful prayer for healing and God's restoration for the emotional damage suffered from this incestuous relationship. All I really remember is how hard it was to keep from bursting out laughing in the middle of that prayer.

More to the point. If they've been together for seven years and there have been no little ones, I don't think they are engaging in any sinful behavior. They must just be tank mates/ bowl mates .
 
I'm awfully tired of all the threads that pop up instructing women how to behave. It's...disheartening.

Do women sometimes need correction from peers? Yes.
Do we need complete strangers giving us "lessons" on how to treat men, how to dress, how to behave?

I'm sure if the men were allowed some of them would post such threads in the ladies forum to make sure they reached all the ladies. But since we ladies here are single it must be because we don't know how to behave with men so that they want to marry us. This is what passes for logic in some brains, but you and I know better. Maybe we should start a do you live up to your own standards for others thread.

And to all the awesome guys on here (you should know who you are). Thanks for being so awesome. We appreciate you and you give us hope that good Godly men are still out there waiting for us.
 
Ultimately I see it as a personal relationship between God and you, whether female or male. And we can tell each other what we have experienced, learned and prayerfully help others in that process, ye to not take my word or anyone elses, for anyone of us could be lying. So read it for self, examine it, test it out to be true or not and see

Yet I found if i go into it as condemned already, then I might be blinded before even beginning to see?
This world teaches we can't and since we go in believing we can't when God says we can, how will any of us be set free and be content in all things good or bad that happen to us?

I've heard female fish smell different from the males. Don't look that up btw, I didn't get the kind of results I was looking for....

So - you know, my advice is adopt a policy of don't ask don't smell.
 
It got cool overnight, woke up to fresh air coming thru my window, a bit chilly in my room, but a hoodie, tea and blankets will solve that :)

I'm hanging out with my mom today. A little while ago, she handed me a grocery bag and said "I found this in my closet and thought you'd like it back".

It's a faded, ultra-soft, purple, cowl neck sweater. It cost $50, twelve years ago, and I threw the NASTIEST teenage hissy fit to get my mom to buy it for me.

I was 16. I had seen the sweater in the mall while with friends, and I kept seeing it for weeks that fall. I tried it on a couple times, and my friend said it brought out the green in my eyes and made my skin look "creamy". She was right- I'd never worn anything before or since that looked and felt like it was made FOR me.

I asked my mom for it; she said she didn't have the money but that I could pick one at half that price. I didn't know until later that even that smaller amount was way too much; she knew how bad I wanted the sweater, felt bad she couldn't give it to me, and was trying to compromise.

I was a jerk. I didn't want a cheaper sweater, I HAD to have the purple one, I hated her for always making me settle for "crap and hand-me-downs". I pouted and wouldn't talk to her for days. She tried to cheer me up and I snapped at her; she tried to explain and I ignored her.

I came home from school one day and found the sweater laying on my bed, with a note from my mom that said simply, "This would look really nice with that flowered skirt of yours."

...I wore the sweater twice. And I never even said thank you.

So I tried, when she handed me the bag and I saw what was in it, to tell her I'm sorry for how I acted...she smiled and waved it off and said, "You'll do the same thing for your snotty teenage daughter someday."

I just thought of the bed t pick up line, feel free to use it: If you were a scab I'd pick you.
 
Had a lot of fun yesterday. I worked on a stained glass project at the midtown studio during "Second Saturday," a once-a-month event where the art studios and galleries, assorted artisans, entertainers and the like have sidewalk sales and put on special exhibits. The studio is going to be included in a "things to do in Sacramento" type of article. People were wandering in to look at the displayed art and watched me work with my glass project. A photographer working on the article took my pic as I foiled up a glass piece, across the table from me, another artist was using woodburning equipment to illustrate a rose onto a gourd, which looked amazing. In the corner was a dude alternating between working on a ceramic skull and carving some details onto a stein, the handle of which looked a bit like "Thor's hammer."

With all the people wandering in and asking us questions as we worked, I felt like I was a tourist attraction. It was kind of cool.

But if you remember we had a phase with women constantly coming on the site bashing men. And i was discouraged myself about it, and made a few posts complaining how common it was to keep seeing posts against men. Many people agreed, even some women. It seems to be the ebb and flow of the site on these topics. Sometimes it aims at women, sometimes at men.

True. How cool would it be if men and women both just knocked it off and turned their bitterness towards a subject that REALLY deserves it...
