90% of african americans vote for democrats, the party of liberalism. Very few african americans are conservative or republican. 90% is a huge number statistically. Seldom in political polling does a 90% happen.

I see this as an ultra sensitivity to race than anyone promoting a racist agenda.

IF...

he said all blacks were on welfare then maybe but no, he said a very specific group.

The only thing I see he attacked was the government and their influence upon the african american community and I agree with his assessment.

Take out the words, the negro, and I do not believe there would be any controversy.

Sounds like he's a regular white guy who doesn't know hardly any black people besides the ghetto ones. That's what happens when you are in that situation, I'm telling ya. He's no special case.
I don't know what you mean by "regular white guy" but the regular white guys I know don't look at all black people like "ghetto" ones. Trying to refute a stereotype about blacks by stereotyping whites probably isn't a good idea.

What Bundy said was obviously in very poor taste. I have read his statement several times, and what I do see is he is not talking about all blacks. "Better under government subsidy" is the key statement here. Are all blacks on welfare? Certainly not. Therefore it looks as if he was speaking specifically about those on welfare that abuse the system. Not those in need of assistance, but those that look at welfare as a permanent fix. His idea that blacks are the only ones who are on the system is very ignorant on his part(at least that is what his statement is leading us to perceive). There are about as many whites on welfare as there are blacks. So to single out one particular race is where he was wrong.

What's unfortunate is while his harsh words are looked at as a stereotype there are many who will label white conservatives as racist just because ONE MAN made an ignorant statement so they stereotype back.

As Christians we shouldn't try to politicize every issue. It doesn't matter if the guy is a liberal or a conservative, what matters is the content of what he was saying. What he said was wrong, as simple as that. I'm a conservative and I still think his comments were racist, or at least very insensitive and foolish.
He could've said ''People[not only one group of people] should stop relying on the government for help, and instead try harder to make a living'' or something like that, but no, he said that blacks are not doing well ''because they never learned how to pick cotton''. If that's not racist, then I don't know what is. It's kind of like saying that the Jews were better off when they were in concentration camps. Simply not true, and extremely foolish and insensitive to those who were there.

He was equating slavery to the welfare mentality when he said they never learned to pick cotton. In other words if people had picked cotton then they would respect the freedom they had and not sell it to the state for a welfare check.
african americans have sold their freedom for the liberal ideal of big government, lack of personal integrity and that, more than any other factor has hurt that community more than any perceived racism ever could......
Really? "Sold their freedom"? I was raised very poor, & for a few years my wife, kids, & me HAD TO live in the projects. WHAT DID I SELL? Have you EVER had to live there?

I personally have worked with black people when I worked for the city, & there I suffered religious discrimination & worked the same nasty jobs side by side with them while they were suffering racial discrimination. I've personally seen racism.

This video was racist, period. Comparing the projects with slavery is idiocy. Agreeing without seeing that means you're not much better. No doubt every black slave during slavery would had rather lived under a bridge or in a car than on a farm being treated not much better than livestock. It makes me sick to see such an attitude, & even more to see some here look 'up' to this guy.

Jude 1:22 (KJV) [SUP]22 [/SUP]And of some have compassion, making a difference:

I see an overdue sermon here.

And just let a black conservative rise to an elevated political position and then see who is calling him 'Uncle Tom', Shoeshine Boy', etc.

sold their freedom

Absolutely. A welfare check does not come without regulations. Why do you think so many have a hard time getting off of welfare. I know the liberal ideal on it, but the fact is, the government makes it hard to get off of welfare because they.....buy......votes.....with......it.

Its a gross misstatement to say welfare is there to help people. Its there to create a dependent lower class of people who must vote a certain way to keep their benefits...encouraged to get benefits through victim mentalities and the scapegoating of the rich.

A form of slavery.

Freedom is the acceptance of more personal responsibility not a bigger welfare check.

Listen to this administration.....a jobless recovery ( what the heck is that? ), forcing people to lower their incomes to get affordable health care insurance, and promoting the ideal that unemployment not only should be permanent but to work is a bad thing.

They are trying to get as many people under the government thumb as possible.

Its slavery. The only difference between today and pre 1860, is people want to become slaves today.

He was in a fight with the Federal Government over grazing rights, DJ. He's not a famous Christian, just a polarizing figure.

Always good to get unedited version of events. I wish more unedited versions would come out of the Middle East.

The person who created the video referred to liberals as sh#t. Interesting the emotional baggage and stereotyping we all seem to have.

Listening to the news about Donald Sterling's racist remarks reminded me of how racist people rarely confess or even realize tat they are indeed racist. Racism, as with any other sin, is something we can all be guilty of, so we shouldn't pretend racism doesn't exist. Some people are more blatant (and unrepentant) about it, that's it.

I'm appalled at the ignorance on this site by professing Christians. The racial agenda is alive and well here on cc.I carefully considered your post before I posted mine.

I'll make this simple for you basketball is a sport of slave owners since you wanna go there. Owners who pay their slaves great prices to pick more cotton(sale more tickets) so the owner can do with say anything they want about the slaves or their family with no repercussions. We remember what happened last time don't we? I mean you just don't want to go there on a Christian site. Who the #$@2^&*8%$#@@)(*&6% wants to be a slave in any context?(Ohh You almost made me slip) Yeah we all want to be paid a fair wage but who wants to be a slave? Most rare trying to not be slaves of sin I would like to hope. Just a few purposed thoughts.

My response was to the Bundy quote, not the nba owner's obvious racism. Totally different, obvious I was not commenting on the nba situation and an absolutely bad attempt to discredit and smear my statements.

I am not a marxist. I believe life is earned, not given to you because someone called you a victim.

My God is Jesus Christ, not a government check. I am called to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit one of which is, generosity. Not forcing others you hate to be generous, but your own personal responsibility to help people....

not to make yourself feel better by making those hated evil rich white guys to pay for welfare, which is a totally inaccurate statement. Those evil rich white guys? They got that way by making good decisions with their monies and therefore only pass those tax costs on to the consumer of their goods....you and me.

You have been sold a bill of goods if you think welfare is there to help people. Lets look at stats. 70% of monies collected by the government...goes to the government. I will make this simple for you..,..when your democrat liberal says he is going to help people with a government check, what he really is saying is, he is going to get jobs for his croneys, and increase their wages.

By the way the average private charity gives 70% to those who need it and keep 30% to run the charity.

I really don't understand you. I make a valid argument and opposed to responding to it, you just raise your voice and talk over it with the words "I'm a conservative!" Well so am I. So where do you stand in your claims? Are you actually going to take the time to respond to me or are you going to stop your ears and scream that your political philosophy is your justification for your uncharitable and inaccurate remarks?

I'm southern and I'm white so because if that you call me a racist? You're no better than those you accuse.
