I am sorry, this is a sort of rain on your parade post, but I am absolutely addicted to TV games, Sudoku, Hearts, Mahjohn, and I don't think it is a good idea at all. I explored what makes it so addictive. I found that it produces the same kind of chemicals in your body that drugs create, except it isn't introduced from something ingested. It is truly addictive and there are now doctors who specialize in helping people with this addiction.

My Great grandson started with shoot em up games at about eight. They take the place of sports, relationships except others who play the same game, and all normal growing up. His folks have tried everything to cure him and nothing has worked. Games have grown from killing games to now that he is 14, it is pornography they found. They have spent thousands of dollars trying to help him.

Their family is very church oriented, but outside of his feeling self righteous on top of all this, his exposure to God principles isn't helping. He is very intelligent and very handsome. So addiction can happen.
"So addiction can happen"
you are so clear in explaining...:)
Also,
addiction must, that's the corporate maniac's intention...
God Bless:)

If you like strategy, then the Total War games are great fun, as is Europa Universalis IV and Crusader Kings 2. There's lots of politics and wars to be fought over the Holy Land and Europe in those, and religion can have a significant effect. As has been noted though, there is no real mainstream "Christian" game. (Though my uncles' company made a number of child-level Christian games about a decade ago, mostly Adventures in Odyssey and related types.)

in reality its all satanic, what you prefer to think is your personal choice...

Yeah not really. They tried making some in the late 80's/early 90's but they were overall poor quality games and I think that was the end of it.
In my opinion, the most playable of this era was Joshua & The Battle of Jericho (NES/Sega Genesis/PC-DOS), but it left a lot to be desired even for its time.

By far and away, the best Christian game I've found though was the PlayStation 2/Xbox release of The Bible Game. It's a party-type game similar to Mario Party, and it features lots of mini-games (though many of the mini-games arent necessarily all Bible related). In the Game Boy Advance release of The Bible Game however, you spend all your time running around maps chasing demons and throwing Bibles at them.

Let's pray the best is yet to come...

I think the most ambitious christian game made is Heaven, google it. I havent played it as such but I cant imagine itd be any good. Im subscribed to the Christian Game Developers Conference but its frustrating because I wish some would lay down their companies and work together, they have an enormous industry to infiltrate and compete with.
thanks for info..i have been searching for some dev. team like that

... Crusader Kings 2...
I must also add, this is the only video game that has ever given me the opportunity to choose to propagate or stamp out my own denomination.

True, true. Also, thinking about it now, I wouldn't compare it as much to Mario Party as I'd compare it to the PS2's Muppets Party Cruise or Crash Bash or similar. Same type of game, just doesn't play as smoothly or frankly, as fun, as Mario Party.

it's more like you vs another player then it's protect from weeds, rust, dogs deer, blight etc. all the while trying to build groups of various flowers. Quite unique...eh a little like Mille Bornes, you know the flat tire, run out of gas race for mileage game etc. but with plants.

Is this Heaven?
It actually looks quite good but I'm not sure why Axis, the female believer you encounter, has too look like Angelina Jolie.

Xrucifix (Two Guys Software) created an RPG some years ago (Eternal War: Shadows of Light), but it was more of a FPS spiritual warfare game than a role playing game. Very average but it had some good ideas. Does anyone know if the sequel, or "spiritual" successor, has been made?

Sorry, no, there are no quality Christian games to date. Is it really that difficult to do a history of the Bible real-time-strategy game (RTS) ala the "Age of Empires" series? Or something else? Christian entertainment seems to not understand creativity and the imagination.
Christian Entertainment is Joy in one's Soul with Holy Spirit. No other pleasure comes near it...
It sounds dull because we are too much in world..

If we (society) weren't used to video games depicting violent crime, realistic death and bloodshed, blasphemous storyline material, secular soundtracks, and incredibly colorful vocabulary, it really does make you wonder what games we might find "fun".

By Christian entertainment, I mean games and movies and TV series but whatever. I wouldn't call the joy the Holy Spirit gives 'entertainment'. Can you please stop condemning everything?

Didn't you know one of the signs of a highly spiritual person is to condemn everything around you and to insert hyper-spirituality into everything? How can you expect a pharisee to be a pharisee if he isn't putting someone or something down as not being as spiritual as he is? Give a pharisee a break tintin!
