Name the time and the place then!
All of this feigned outrage at Obama for "not standing up to Putin" in Ukraine is driving me crazy. They keep claiming it makes America look weak.
These people don't understand what "standing up to Putin" implies.
It implies that we will actually go to war over Ukraine if he doesn't do what we want after we draw some invisible red line.
No one believes America should spend billions in money, and lose thousands of lives in war over Ukraine.
No one believes Ukraine is that important of a national interest.
Yet the same ones who believe we shouldn't go to war, are mad because apparently Obama isn't standing up to Putin by threatening to go to war if Putin doesn't do what we want!
It's like people are so anxious to make Obama look bad, that they'll choose an option (Going to war in Ukraine.) that they don't agree with.
If one doesn't think a war in Ukraine is in our national interest, then they can't get on Obama's case for "making us look weak".
Politics..politics...politics...good grief.
it's a good day!
how are you, dub? aren't you starting that job soon?
p.s. a girlfriend of mine is having a henna party this weekend. i always think of you when i hear/see the word "henna". : )
I know.Well, just remember the 90s. When President Clinton bombed al Qaeda, his opponents complained that he was only doing it because he wanted to draw attention away from news reports about his relationship with Ms. Lewinsky.
Then, after 9/11, those same, former opponents of President Clinton complained that he had not bombed al Qaeda enough.
So according to them, he had both bombed al Qaeda too much, and he had not bombed them enough.
Such examples of foreign policy being caught up in domestic political maneuvering (and in Mr Clinton's case, very domestic) have the habit of repeating themselves over and over.
I know.
The Republicans spent the 90s fighting everything but terrorism.
They investigated things that really didn't need investigating as far as national interest is concerned.
If they had spent that time cooperating fighting terror, 9-11 may not have happened..BUT..they had their attention on other things...
Then 911 happens and they're like..Oh wow..why didn't anyone mention this stuff?
ww_21 and I are demanding everyone do a live chat in less than an hour.I'm on a curfew here!! lol
Tip: When cooking pasta or anything that calls for milk.......use coconut milk instead of regular milk. Gives it the most amazing flavor change
i spent a number of years rather proud of the fact that i could pack and move in an evening. i always found it very freeing to know that i could travel "light" and not feel weighed down by a mass of things. i think that's a great feeling.
if i think about it now, my head would explode. last time i moved, it was a minor production. a caravan followed by a horse trailer and ridiculous coordination.
gone are the days of easy-breezy-relocation. enjoy it while it lasts. : )
Sometimes I wonder if I have a mild form of dyslexia or something similar. I often type words and think they don't look right, words like weird, gauge and others. I have to concentrate on some words more than others.
I have always done very well in math (even though I'm not a fan), but I couldn't always understand it the way it was being taught to me. I had to find my own way of processing it, particularly things like factoring.
I don't even know whether it matters at this stage of life. It's just something I've noticed and wonder about, especially since I have a relative who is dyslexic. From what I have read, it is believed to be hereditary.
Both of you girls are so cute!! I love you!!![]()
