How odd. Well here's one for you...
Even when I was married..never once in all my dating years either,have I ever been kissed at midnight on New Years Eve.
(and Im a pretty good kisser too...what's up with that?) lolz

hahahaa... well, technically, (sort of like your scenario) my last name's first initial is "t" so yes, it's monica t.

however, one of my good pals always calls me moni-cat and so there's a bit of that too. maybe it's both.

i started using the "just" one year when i got a little fed up with bankers (looking at you rach : ) saying to me, ok, so when will you have your husband (or once, my father) come in to sign the papers on your house purchase/business loan/investment account and i would have to repeatedly (or so it seemed) tell them ,

"oh, no, it's only me. it's just monica t."...

that was also a year that i was on the road a lot for business and i was constantly eating alone in restaurants as well. so i guess i embraced the whole "it's just me" thing.

now, i just feel like just_monicat is a well worn pair of jeans that i enjoy hanging out in : )

and thanks for asking. when i read about your explanation on the other thread i chuckled about my assumption of the moniker (like everyone else).

I say that a lot too just monicat. "it's just me". "no, it's just me". (sometimes I shorten it) "just me". Sometimes all I have to do is shrug my shoulders and point at myself. "me".

ouch. ok, so here's my deal.

one valentines day in particular was really awful. i had just starting seeing this guy, like three weeks before. and literally that week i was starting to sort out some things that i was thinking/seeing in him that i didn't like (or was concerned about). i was genuinely praying for guidance because i thought he was a good guy, but i wasn't sure about him yet. i also didn't want to be the girl that dumps a guy the day before valentines day (of course, i don't care about that anymore). i also thought we were on the same page.

so, he surprised me with this ridiculous valentines day thing--a big deal. i was actually embarrassed (i may be an extrovert, but i can get embarrassed/blush really easily) and sort of shocked by such a large gesture for such a new relationship. it was awkward because i just couldn't be disingenuous about things, but i wanted to be kind and appreciative as well.

*shudder* awkward. live and learn, live and learn...

lol..lumpy..well,I dunno..that's not too bad. From the age of 16 til I was in my mid-twenties people...I'm talking like random people whom I might have met one time ever at a party or a show would call me "VOIVOD".

All this because I had a jean jacket that I'd acrylic painted of a cover of one of Voivod's albums,so of course people would meet me,I'd tell them my name,but they couldn't (or chose not to) remember it...instead they called me Voivod.

This would get really odd,just walking somewhere..like a dept store...or even as random as in a park..running into people I barely knew & then usually shouting "VOOOOOIIIIIIVOOOODDDDDD" & making heavy metal devil horns at me with their hands.

Yeah..explain that one when yer' street witnessing with a few kids from the churches youth group. lol
good times good times.

The moral of the story is...
ummm...sheesh ,I dunno. Carry on.

I also detest going to the grocery store. yeah, i really struggle with patience at the store, especially with "the horizontal carts across the aisle situation" that happens way too much. sometimes i'm in the mood to linger and read labels, but more often i'm a purposeful shopper.

i have a love-hate relationship with costco. for some reason, i find great delight in the prospect of having 45433454 rolls of paper towels and 10lbs of cheese, but it's worse there for bad cart-ing habits.

and those sample tables!!! i try to avoid them because it's impossible to get through. it's like people are so mesmerized by food that they've lost all directional sensibilities (or powers of observation) and slowly wander, 6 abreast across the aisle.

i WISH i was 5'9". i'm like 5'8'- give or take, depending upon how (unintentionally) big my hair is that day.
