I'm going to say all my life apart from a brief stint for not more than a year. It wasn't really a real relationship.

I think being single is when you're not married. If you're seeing someone but not married to him or her, to me, you're still single. If you're sleeping around with anyone, YOU ARE COMMITTING ADULTERY {FORNICATION}. But that doesn't make you married. Simply put, I thhink if you're not marrried, you're single.
Well ... I've been divorced for about two years now. Still hoping to find a man who will truly love me and make me open my heart again.

Since about a week or two after new years here.

On another topic, some of those poll numbers really surprise me (especially the people that has been single their whole life, I'm guessing some of those are by choice). One of my good friends I talk to on here is really pretty and she's great, very godly woman. She told me she had never been asked out and i thought she was pulling my leg at first. Is that common among you other ladies here as well?
I know this is a few months old, but I wanted to address it. Yes!! This is a common problem for Christian women. We outnumber our male counterparts 2:1. When I was young enough to be in the youth group or the college class, people were meeting each other and dating, but it seems to have come to a screeching halt when you reach the age by which the church thinks you should have already been married. Please, Christian single men, don't be afraid to ask a woman from church if they would be interested in having coffee with you or going to an event together. Just keep it casual and fun without expectations, and many of us would gladly say yes.

Hi Misty77 - while you might be right on the ratio numbers, from the Christian single men I know, we're gonna have to take you out for something a little stronger than coffee to start with. We might even have to knock you out. That being said, I'm glad you included the zero expectation caveat - if that's the case then I'm your man. :)

LOL, kentom, you might have a future (gift) in comedy :D

And, I kid, but, too, I say that seriously. Seriously :)

Those are encouraging words for guys, too, 'no expectations,' mistysevens :)

That's good advice. I think, too, the best way to go out on a date is with His expectations which, right away, should put us into a humble mode that is serving Him and just letting the Lord 'take it away.' :)

YOu know, like an announcer says, 'Take it away!' THAT kind of take :)

lease, let me answer this question again, too, I just love to answer it, how long have I been...... Hmmmm, single:? Does going out with my dog count :D

It's been 5-6 years i think. When i accepted JESUS as my LORD and SAVIOR, I offered my life to Him and i told GOD that i will wait patiently for the perfect guy that He prepares for me. The one that would be my partner in ministry, in doing the will of the LORD, and will encourage me when i'm weak. "If you will not be happy being a single, you will not be happy being married" i always remind myself of this saying that's why while waiting i'm enjoying myself with God, living in His unfailing love, in His blessings and favor, contented in His presence. God bless you all:)

0_0 This poll has grown to interest me over time. I wonder what the median age of those who voted "always single" is. That also makes me curious about their circumstance, beliefs, demographics, and many other things. Perhaps that's just the lonely philosopher/scholar locked away somewhere in the recesses of my mind...

I was married 22 years and now I am single. Reality of my singleness accured when I looked at my past couple years and realized. I am alone. When My Dad had brain surgery, my nephew got cancer, My 2 Aunts died and I did not have my x-husbands shoulder or concern, I became single. We were separated 16 months. Divorce process is on. So sad. But I am a single woman who is only physically alone. My God is my hero and He never has left and He never will. Amen and Hallelujah . I am stronger today than I have ever been. I have Faith that My Father in Heaven has an awesome plan for me. So I am ready.Peace and Love <3

I just realized that I didn't answer the question: I've been single (divorced) for 3 years, 2 months, and 4 days. I was separated for 13 months before that.

I have been single for about 3 years now, meaning no boyfriend. I have been on a few dates, but I haven't met anyone that seemed right. I know that special someone is out there somewhere, and one day I will meet him.

I like the openness of this post, herbalfoilageHis, it is hard, cut, yet, understanding and real, the Lord leads. He has plans for us all, we are to only follow Him all our lives, through it all, He will always take care of us and, never forget, He will never leave us nor forsake us. :)

I wish you had been around when I was your age, I would have definitely pursued you. I would say more but I don't want to creep you out. :)

Keep those traits because that is what a true man of God is seeking. A best friend, a sister in Christ, a mother to his children, and someone who knows herself and stays strong for what God has for her.
