Not for nothing, but I do find it humorous that I have to come to a Christian Site to be called such things simply because I enjoy reading a particular translation of the Word of God..........am I the only one who finds this a bit humorous?
Ummmmmmm not humorous, typical, or as Prauss said it, expected. That's the norm.

You have people who are told you have to have faith to be saved. And they are taught a Fascist God will kill them and torment them forever if they don't play by His rules. So these people are running scared and DO NOT WANT TO BE burned eternally.

So, they have a floating donut they were thrown, "salvation", have a magic bath, say a magic prayer, eat milk and cookies at church once a month, sing some songs, say hallelujah and Praise God occasionally, with a mixed bag of words like blessings, "in Christ", and "love", and you go to heaven.

Then someone comes along and challenges a part of that.

You just put your hands on their floating donuts and the waves are getting choppy.

Since they think faith means believing, and never really reached out to get their arms around the word, you challenged their belief. THEY CAN NOT POSSIBLY change that belief, if they did it meant they didn't have faith. So they cling to it with everything they got. Even if it's only ad hominem.

While it is true that other versions after the King James Bible could be true but in better understanding, which I believe it will be to a certain point, but eventually the versions in process of time that come after the King James Bible will be corrupted and have a different meaning than other wise intended.

The reason for this is as time goes by people are becoming more selfish and arrogant and not wanting to hear the truth and not wanting an authority above them and do not want to humble themselves before a God,so they will want to hear the Bible according to how they want to hear it and the Bible will have a different meaning than otherwise intended that will exalt man and not exalt Jesus as God that the world will accept.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men(Proverbs 30:11-14).

The last generation before Jesus comes back that will be unlike any other attitude before it.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables(2 Timothy 4:2-4).

The time will come when people will want to hear the Bible according to how they want to hear it and not how it actually is and that is because the last generation will be so arrogant and greedy and selfish and wanting their own way that they will eventually not want an authority above them which is what the beast system is in Revelation,a kingdom that is all about man with no religious or governmental authority above them.

So while versions after the King James Bible may be correct but in a better understanding eventually there will be versions that alter the plan of God and corrupt His word to cater to the selfish and arrogant people in the future that will eventually be the Christianity that all religions will embrace for there must be a false version of the Bible that the world will accept to deceive them before the beast system can begin a Bible that exalts man and claims no God above them but they will recognize the God of forces.

facts:

1) King jim used more than a thousand years after the fact copy of copies to translate his bible.
2) The "older translations" by your explanation above are more likely to be without change.
3) King Jim's bible has verses that appear, that are not in the older translations.
4) The Church Father's apparently never heard them, because had it been in THEIR copies, they would surely have named some of them at least, when they debated TRINITY. BECAUSE they are custom made for the Trinity arguments.
5) It's really problematic to suggest the NASB, NET, ESV, etc.... authors, went BACK IN TIME (none had a flux capacitor after all), and erased those words from those older copies....

BY DEFNITION the older copies, are..... less likely to be changed than the newer. I embrace your thought and say that is exactly why KJONLYISM is based on ignorance and emotion, not rational thought.

For the record, I don't see anything that is KJ ONly in your words.

What's next, Jaume, Fortune Cookies and Ouija boards?
Voodoo numerology!

This exactly the kind of Satanic teachings that you'd expect from "King James bible believers" who write that our Savior Jesus Christ is the "the son of perdition" and "the anti christ".

Mal 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

... in regard to the textual changes to the Holy Bible which the secular publishing companies are making:

Believers Beware of Counterfeit King James Bibles

By Nic Kizziah

Now the very worst of this battle of o-u-r vs. o-r comes when dealing with the only begotten Son of God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The modern day counterfeiters have changed Saviour to Savior. They have given us a six-letter Savior in place of a seven-letter Saviour. In Bible numerics seven is the number of completeness, purity, and spiritual perfection. On the other hand six is the number of man which is earthly not heavenly. Every one has heard of 666. It has a bad connotation and is not highly esteemed in Bible numerics.

The seven-letter Saviour is the only begotten Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. The six-letter Savior is the son of perdition, the anti christ. He wants to be like the most High (Isaiah 14:14,) but not in a good way, but in an evil way. He is not a follower. He's a counterfeiter. Therefore his final destination is the lake of fire. The new versions, along with the new age movement, and some of the King James Bible counterfeits are preparing the way for this six-letter so called Savior. That's the way he will spell his name, S-a-v-i-o-r not S-a-v-i-o-u-r. No thank you Satan. I'm sticking with the seven-letter Saviour as portrayed in the old black Book that I inherited from my forefathers.

Hi Space. In case you haven't noticed, the church is already divided into thousands of pieces and you certainly are not going to put it back together into unity. There are those like you who do not believe that ANY Bible in any language IS the complete and infallible words of God, and there are the King James Bible believers who do.

Now, if you think I totally misunderstood you or am painting you in a bad and unfair light, then please show us a copy of this "untranslated" complete and infallible Bible you seem to want us to think you actually believe in. I'll even make it easier on you. You don't have to give us the Old Testament, which the Vatican Versions like the ESV, NIV, NASB etc. so often reject and ADD to. Just show us the New Testament copy that you honestly believe is God's infallible words and when others differ from it in text or meaning, then the others are wrong and your infallible N.T. is right. Will you do that for us? Thanks so much. God bless.
If it wasn't for God, I wouldn't give a crap. So. Take it or leave it.

The biggest problem facing the body of Christ isn't all the false doctrine and beliefs, but the
cause of the ailments. Its what you drink and eat.

Rev 10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth
sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

Modern Version Mysticism

We all have our favorite versions(s) of the Bible. Still, we shouldn't "believe" in this version of the Bible, or that. We should BELIEVE in our Father in heaven.
Hi Res, I have seen more and more Christians today with this "soft and fluffy" sense of mysticism you just expressed. Since you no longer (or perhaps, never did) believe in an infallible Bible, you somehow think that you can know anything about the Father or the Son without this Book. This is called modern mysticism. No wonder Praus and others would like your post. Since I have seen this type of mystical mentality before, I have written about it. You can't possibly know any truth about the true God and our Father without this Book. Without the Bible you are left to your own imagination, and this is your own personal brand of mysticism.

"No Bible is my final authority. GOD is!"

Recently at our Facebook King James Bible Debate club a typical bible agnostic posted “No Bible is my final authority. GOD is!”. A Bible agnostic is someone who does not know where to find a copy of a Bible in any language that is the inspired, complete and 100% historically true words of God. He cannot show you his infallible Bible simply because he does not believe such a thing exists. This particular bible agnostic was being shown many examples of the literally thousands of words that have been omitted from the text of many modern versions and the completely contradictory readings and meanings they all contain. He was getting a bit frustrated that he could not defend any of his modern versions as being the infallible words of God so he came out with this pious sounding, knee jerk exclamation “No Bible is my final authority; God is!”

It should be pointed out that we know absolutely NOTHING about who the true God is, what He is like, and what He has done for us in Christ outside of the Bible - Nothing! All we can know from natural revelation (creation) is that there must be a Creator. But what He is like; Who He is and what He does in history and how He has worked out His eternal purpose to redeem a people unto Himself and what lies ahead - we know nothing about all these things outside of His complete and inspired words.

If you think you have some kind of authoritative revelation apart from the Bible about Who this God of ours is, then you are off into the land of mysticism, imagination, vain speculation and subjective reasoning. You are creating a god in your own image and not the God who has revealed Himself to us in His holy and inspired written words.

God gave us His Book so we can have an objective (outside of ourselves) revelation of Who He is; what our lost condition is, and how He is making a new creation through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Satan hates this Book and will do all he can to undermine faith in its truth - its absolute truth. Modern versions have done much to undermine faith in the inerrancy of Scripture. The polls show that less than 50% of present day Christians sitting in the pews believe in the infallibility of the Bible. Among the clergy, the percentage is in the 90's percentile.

See the quotes from many modern day Christians (who are not even King James Bible believers) here -

The Bible NOT inspired - Another King James Bible Believer

Modern versions pervert the truth of Scripture in many ways and degrade the Godhead. The Son of God becomes a liar in many modern versions in John 7:8-10. He gets angry "without a cause" and thus becomes a hypocrite in Matthew 5:22. There are now two Gods in some versions in John 1:18; Christ becomes a created being who has "origins" in Micah 5:2, and God Himself can be deceived (nasb) in Psalm 78:36. Jesus is no longer "worshipped" but men merely "bowed down" to him in the gospels. Literally thousands of words have been omitted from the N.T. in most modern Vatican Versions like the ESV, NIV, NASB and hundreds more added to the Hebrew text in versions like the modern Catholic versions and the ESV.

See more on how the modern versions degrade the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ here -

Mat.27:24just/degrade - Another King James Bible Believer

Scores of Hebrew readings have been changed in versions like the ESV, NIV, NASB, and NOBODY seriously believes that ANY of these versions are the infallible words of God. See the proof of this here -

All the attacks coming today are generally directed against ONE Book and that Book is the King James Bible. Nobody who is anti-KJB or who criticizes its texts and its translations believes in the Infallibility of the Bible - ANY Bible. Those are the facts.

The Bible itself tells us that there will be a falling away from the faith in the last days (2 Thes. 2) and that the Whore of Babylon will arise to deceive the whole world with the wine of her fornication. (Rev. 18) Anybody who is using a UBS (United Bible Society) based version is in fact using a Vatican Version and is being deceived.

See Undeniable Proof the ESV, NIV, NASB, NET, Holman etc. are tne “new” Vatican Versions here -

So when you hear people piously say something like "The Bible is not my final authority. GOD is." you should know that such a person is walking in the imagination of his own heart and is deceived. Fewer and fewer Christians actually read these modern perversions and they believe them less and less. God is sending a famine of hearing His words, just like He said He would. (Amos 8:11-12) But He always has a remnant of believing people who tremble at His words and esteem them above their necessary food.

Ask God to open your eyes and give you the faith to believe His words - ALL of His words. They are found in all their purity and power only in the King James Holy Bible.

Hi Res. Sounds good, but now you have a "problem". WHICH Bible accurately recounts the events it documents. They cannot ALL be right. God the Father does not have Alzheimer's and He is not this confused. Either one reading is right and the others are wrong, or they are all wrong, but they cannot all be right.

Most Evangelical Christians today do not believe that any Bible in any language IS the inerrant words of God. In spite of the lame, signifying nothing, recent Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy, they did get one thing right. It’s found in Article XII - “We deny that Biblical infallibility and inerrancy are limited to spiritual, religious, or redemptive themes, exclusive of assertions in the fields of history and science.” Every true Bible believer should agree with this statement. IF the Bible is not 100% historically true, then at what point does God start to tell us the truth? If we cannot trust God's Book when it comes to specific numbers and names when it comes to past history, then how can we be sure He got the other parts right?

It is devastating for the modern version promoter to see where the New Jerusalem Catholic bible lands on these verses. Also notice how the previous Catholic Douay-Rheims read. It was a whole lot closer to the historical truth than are these more modern translations.

The following short list is just a sampling of the divergent and confusing readings found among the contradictory modern bible versions. There are numerous other examples, but these are just a few to make you aware of what is going on here with "the late$t in $cholar$hip Finding$".

Among these “historic details” are whether Jeremiah 27:1 reads Jehoiakim (Hebrew texts, RV, ASV, NKJV, KJB, ISV, Douay-Rheims, St. Joseph New American Bible 1970) or Zedekiah (RSV, NIV, NASB, ESV, NET, Holman, Catholic New Jerusalem 1985)

1 Samuel 13:1 Here we read: “Saul reigned ONE year; and when he had reigned TWO years over Israel, Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel.” reading - ONE/TWO years (NKJV, KJB, Geneva, Judaica Press Tanach, Orthodox Jewish Bible), or 40/32 (NASB 1972-77) or 30/42 (NASB 1995, NIV), OR 30 years/ 40 years (NET) or _____years and______and two years (RSV, NRSV, ESV 2001 edition, St. Joseph New American Bible 1970, Catholic New Jerusalem 1985), or "was 40 years old...and when he had reigned 2 years" (Amplified bible 1987) or "____years old and reigned 2 years" (Complete Jewish bible, Knox bible) or "was 30 years old...ruled for 42 years" (ISV, Common English Bible) or “32 years old...reigned for 22 years” in the 1989 Revised English Bible, or even "was 50 years old and reigned 22 years." in the New English Bible of 1970!

But wait. There's even more. The ESV 2001 edition had "Saul was________years old when he began to reign, and he reigned____and two years over Israel." But now the 2011 edition of the ESV has come out (I have a hard copy right here in front of me) and it now has the perhaps even more ridiculous reading of "Saul LIVED FOR ONE YEAR AND THEN BECAME KING, and when he had reigned FOR TWO YEARS over Israel, Saul chose 3000 men of Israel...". Think about it. "Saul lived for one year and then became king". They just get loopier and loopier, don't they?

whether 2 Samuel 21:8 reads Michal (Hebrew texts, KJB, NKJV, RV, ASV, Douay-Rheims) or Merab (RSV, NIV, NASB, ESV, NET, Holman, ISV, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or 70 (NASB, NKJV, RV, ASV, RSV, NRSV, Holman, ISV, KJB) being sent out by the Lord Jesus in Luke 10:1 and 17 or 72 (NIV, ESV, NET, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or in Matthew 18:22 does the Lord say to forgive your brother not “until 7 times, but unto 70 times 7 times” (= 490 times - KJB, RV, ASV, NASB, NKJV, RSV, ESV, ISV, Douay-Rheims, St. Joseph NAB, ALL Greek texts) or 77 times (NRSV, NIV, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or the 7th day in Judges 14:15 (KJB, NKJV, RV, ASV, Douay-Rheims) or the 4th day (RSV, ESV, NASB, NIV, NET, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem) or "the NEXT day" ISV (they just made this up!)

Or Hannah taking young Samuel to the house of the LORD with THREE bullocks in 1 Samuel 1:24 (KJB, Hebrew texts, RV, ASV, JPS 1917, NKJV, Youngs, NET, Douay-Rheims) or “A THREE YEAR OLD BULL: (LXX, Syriac RSV, ESV, NIV, NASB, ISV, Holman, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or God smiting 50,070 men in 1 Samuel 6:19 (KJB, RV, ASV, NASB, NET, ISV, Douay-Rheims) or 70 men slain (RSV, NIV, NRSV, ESV, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem), or “70 men- 50 chief men” (Young’s), or “70 MEN OUT OF 50,000 Holman Standard

or there being 30,000 chariots in 1 Samuel 13:5 (KJB, NKJV, RV, ASV, NASB, RSV, NRSV, ESV, ISV, Douay-Rheims) or only 3000 (NIV, NET, Holman, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

2 Samuel 15:7 “forty years” (KJB, Hebrew, Geneva, NKJV, NASB, RV, Douay-Rheims) OR “four years” (NIV, RSV, ESV, NET, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem). The ISV ADDS words to the Hebrew text to make it say what they think it means, saying: "And so it was that forty years after Israel had demanded a king, Absalom asked the king..."

or whether both 2 Samuel 23:18 and 1 Chronicles 11:20 read “chief of the THREE” (KJB, Hebrew texts, RV, ASV, NKJV, NRSV, Holman, NIV, NET, Holman, NET, Douay-Rheims) or THIRTY from the Syriac (NASB, RSV, ESV, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem) The ISV completely omits any number and just makes up their own text saying: "in charge of the platoons"

or 2 Samuel 24:13 reading SEVEN years (KJB, Hebrew, ASV, NASB, NKJV, NET, ISV, Douay-Rheims) or THREE years (LXX, NIV, RSV, NRSV, ESV, Holman, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or whether 1 Kings 4:26 reads 40,000 stalls of horses (Hebrew, KJB, RV, ASV, NASB, ESV, NKJV, ISV, Douay-Rheims) or 4,000 stalls (NIV, NET, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or whether 1 Kings 5:11 reads 20 measures of pure oil (Hebrew texts, Geneva, KJB, ASV, RV, NASB, NRSV, ISV, Douay-Rheims) or 20,000 (RSV, NIV, ESV, NET, LXX and Syriac, St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or in 2 Chronicles 31:16 we read "males from THREE years old" (Hebrew texts, KJB, Geneva Bible, Wycliffe, LXX, Syriac, RV, ASV, RSV, NRSV, ESV, NIV, NKJV, Holman, NET, Douay-Rheims) or "males from THIRTY years old" (NASB - ft. Hebrew “three”, ISV -"every male 30 years old and older", St. Joseph NAB, Catholic New Jerusalem)

or where 2 Chronicles 36:9 reads that Jehoiachin was 8 years old when he began to reign (Hebrew texts, KJB, NASB, NKJV, RV, ASV, KJB, RSV, NRSV, ESV 2001 edition, ISV, Douay-Rheims) or he was 18 years old (NIV, Holman, NET, ESV 2007 edition!!! and once again the Catholic St. Joseph NAB and the New Jerusalem)

or that when God raised the Lord Jesus from the dead it is stated in Acts 13:33 “this day have I begotten thee” (KJB, NASB, NKJV, RV, RSV, NRSV, ESV, Douay-Rheims, St. Joseph NAB) or “today I have become your Father” (NIV, Holman, NET, ISV, Catholic New Jerusalem).

If you go back and read through this list of just some of the numerous very real differences that exist among these Bible of the Month Club versions, ask yourself which (if any) are the 100% historically true words of God. IF "the Bible" is not 100% historically true in the events it narrates, then when does God start to tell us the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?

As for the ESV, you can see a lot more examples of how this revamped RSV version often rejects the clear Hebrew readings and has changed over 300 verses from the 2001 to the 2007 editions -

If I misunderstood you then I apologize, but honestly the issue of the bible translations are very deep. To say really that say any version besides the KJV or something is evil or corrupt even just a little corrupt makes no sense to me. The word of God can never be corrupted God would not allow that. But again if I misunderstood you then I sincerely am sorry my intent was not to be mean or rude
Well, obviously you forgot that if we live in a fallen world, that's because the devil changed the truth into a lie, and Eve fell into it ! Did you forget that we don't live in paradise, but in the valley of the shadow of the death ?
This is a very naive view to believe what you said, that perversion of the Lord's Word
couldn't exist in a fallen world temporary ruled by the father of lie !
And, again, I never said that the KJV is the only accurate version !
But one day or another you would have to face the fact
that most modern versions are corrupt by a satanic agenda from the Vatican!
I hate it so much when people put awful words I never said into my mouth !
I accept your apologies though.

sigh. :( I don't want to put you on the spot. So I'll advise go do a thorough study on LOGOS to understand the breadth of it's meaning.

Calling the bible the Word, rather than the word of God, deifies the Bible. YOu would then have a Quadrinity.
So, tell me, does the Word of God come from God, or from humans ? YOU CHOOSE !

And you base this on what? Maybe the particular type of mushrooms you had on your pizza's influence? If you had ANY education on the other translations' history, you'd be embarrassed for yourself. I'm embarrassed enough for both of us for you though.

And Garlic keeps vampires away. and Holy water melts vampires into a nice dip for crackers. I mean, if you are going to accept a story as far out there as that, NOT TO MENTION IMPOSSIBLE, then let's take all the stupid wild stories and buy into all of them.

And you further prove your lack of education on the topic. You need to buy more books, and find better people to listen to. They will have you quitting your job and chasing rainbows soon. I'm trying to keep this light with some humor, but your comments are to the point of bizarre they are so off.

OH YEAH, the other books of the bible that you claim constantine kept out...

Constantine didn't have any influence on what books were in there. Go buy a Church history book and read about it. HE may have, MAY HAVE influenced the opinions of some in the council of NICEA on what it's purpose was, but that was to answer a "heresy" issue, not write the Bible.

There is a reason those 80% of the books were suppressed. If you did ANY RESEARCH it's so blatantly obvious on most of them, that you would hide your face in shame.
Well, obviously you don't deserve I take seriously your post, as you mock me all the way, and slander me as much as you can. If really you were so sure I was wrong, you would not attack me personally . It's when you get personal attacks like that that you know the other person knows they are wrong !

When you're done belittling and mocking your neighbor,
we could have a grown-up discussion about this topic.

Until then, bye for now !

Re: Modern Version Mysticism

Ok, so ignoring that you can cut and paste someone else's arguments....... if you were smart enough to find them, then I'm wondering why you weren't smart enough to find one of the many valid rebuttals.

Perhaps you simply didn't want to as with the below information, you had all you needed, errr wanted.

Well, obviously you don't deserve I take seriously your post, as you mock me all the way, and slander me as much as you can.
Show me slander. And I mocked you no more addressing your superior posting, than your superior posting mocked us. If you don't like the tone I mirrored, don't exhibit it to start with.

If really you were so sure I was wrong, you would not attack me personally .

mock you? MOCK YOU? I tried to make light of how far out there your claims were. had I listed all the reasons it was a silly thing to say, you would have been much more embarrassed. So you wanna claim I mocked you for trying to alleviate some sting from it. Well, my goodness, aren't we special. We get to make OUTLANDISH AS HELL IS HOT comments, and cry foul on emotional basis when someone shows us wrong.!!! Must be a burden being that right all the time. YES THIS TIME I AM MOCKING YOU.

It's when you get personal attacks like that that you know the other person knows they are wrong !

When you're done belittling and mocking your neighbor,
we could have a grown-up discussion about this topic.

Until then, bye for now !
So, you play victim really well to avoid dealing with the objections.

You need to do the research to see the other side of the arguments so you don't say such outlandish things in public again.

So, tell me, does the Word of God come from God, or from humans ? YOU CHOOSE !
.

THE WORD of God, and the word of God are different things entirely. Same as "fag" in the U.S. is a derogatory term, and in the U.K. you smoke it, or carry it as a torch.

Christ is the Word. Logos. That word, "logos", doesn't just mean 'word'. the words in the Bible, is not the Word in John 1.

You had it put to you plain enough. You chose to ignore it and avoid it. so what does that tell you? Maybe that you had no answer, so you cried really loud for sympathy instead? I mean, ya gotta win people to your side somehow.... right?

All I know is Gods word in the king James translation delivered me from sin...so I'll stick to what worked and continues to work. And if another translation delivered you then u stick to what works...and continue to let the knowledge of God be shed abroad in our hearts thru the holy spirit, cause the holy ghost was there from the beginning.

I imagine most Bibles are pretty accurate. They'll tell you what the commandments are. If you obey the commandments, you're in pretty good shape, I think.
