Good point. Cults often use fear, guilt and manipulation so their members remain loyal to the cult.

Thanks I probably shouldn't have said so much but it makes me annoyed because I have fallen into the trap of listening to some of these people and then feeling upset and scared and guilt ridden thankfully I have looked into quite a bit of it and I believe with prayer and revealing a few things God is slowly fixing me.

I don't have any problems with people who want to worship God on a Saturday or any other day (I happen to worship the Lord on a Sunday) what I can't stand is the sine to frighten and judge others.

Besides if Sunday worship was the mark of the beast then many who don't go to Church at all and non-believers would be saved lol as they didn't partake in the mark!! Ridiculous. Oh I best say I am not judging people here merely judging the sin of judging.

I agree. Go worship on any day you wish but do not sit in judgement of me because I attend church on a different day, or eat pork, etc. That sort of judgmentalism is forbidden in the bible and yet they continue to judge by that sinful standard.

Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— Col. 2:16

We're talking about a woman (e.g. Ellen White) that stated angels would fly over to and drop coiled green cords for her to place next to her heart so she could be pulled into heaven. I would classify her as someone exhibiting personality disorder symptoms from Cluster B (e.g. dramatic, emotional or erratic disorders)... classic attention seeking.

And yes, they mash Colossians 2 badly to get around the ramification of it referring to a weekly Sabbath.

Actually, her visions were more than likely due to her a frontal lobe trauma to her brain. There is no doubt her brain injury was extensive. She probably had a concussion which caused her brain to swell. The swelling then caused massive damage to her frontal lobe. Frontal lobe trauma is well known to produce religious visions and other hallucinations.

Three neurosurgeons were asked to look at her case. One decided not to get involved. The other two said her injuries are the source of her religious visions. Here is a link to this fascinating discussion. Too bad the SDA's buy into her visions as coming from the Lord.

Here is the link -------> Ellen White's Head Injury

It's amazing to think that all these years later, people are following her brain trauma as if it were God.

Yep. Like her "vision" of angels that use a gold pass to get into heaven. What if satan gets a hold of a gold pass? What if an angels losses his/her gold pass?

How absurd!

She made multiple false prophecies and said the craziest things. Her estate has a whole section devoted to trying to explain some of them away.

It's comical because their laborious attempts fall so far short. The invoking of "conditional prophecy" to justify her more egregious false prophecies after the fact though she provided no conditions when she made the false prophecies had me laughing.

Show me where an old testament prophet makes a prophecy without any conditions and then later comes around and adds conditions because the prophecy didn't come true. Show me a single example of that happening in the Bible in that way.

And yet, I will bet anything up to and including a nickel that most of you believe one of the main false teachings of E. G. White, the Great Controversy.

E.G. White wrote that teaching infants to avoid masturbation is a good tactic for fighting the devil.

An Appeal to Mothers by Ellen White

An Appeal to Mothers, Ellen G. White, 1864
My Sisters, my apology for addressing you on this subject is, I am a mother, and feel alarmed for those children and youth who by solitary vice are ruining themselves for this world, and for that which is to come. Let us closely inquire into this subject from the physical, mental and moral points of view.
...
How important that we teach our children self-control from their very infancy, and learn them the lesson of submitting their wills to us. If they should be so unfortunate as to learn wrong habits, not knowing all the evil results, they can be reformed by appealing to their reason, and convincing them that such habits ruin the constitution, and affect the mind. We should show them that whatever persuasions corrupt persons may use to quiet their awakened fears, and lead them to still indulge this pernicious habit, whatever may be their pretense, they are their enemies and the Devil's agents. Virtue and purity are of great value. These precious traits are of heavenly origin. They make God our friend, and unite us firmly to his throne.

Satan is controlling the minds of the young, and we must work resolutely, and faithfully to save them. Very young children practice this vice, and it grows upon them and strengthens with their years, until every noble faculty of body and soul is being degraded. Many might have been saved if they had been carefully instructed in regard to the influence of this practice upon their health. They were ignorant of the fact that they were bringing much suffering upon themselves. Children who are experienced in this vice, seem to be bewitched by the Devil until they can impart their vile knowledge to others, even teaching very young children this practice.

There are those here who claim to be following the Scriptures
and the Scriptures only that they may teach the truth and yet
these very ones set aside the Scriptures which deal with the
perpetuity of the law of God. They are following in the track of
Rome.

Beware!

"Whatever contradicts God's word, we may be sure proceeds from Satan." --Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets

"The angels had cautioned Eve to beware of separating herself from her husband while occupied in their daily labor in the garden; with him she would be in less temptation than if she were alone. But absorbed in her pleasing task, she unconsciously wandered from his side. On perceiving that she was alone, she felt an apprehension of danger. ... She soon found herself gazing with mingled curiosity and admiration upon the forbidden tree" Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets

Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. (KJV)

"Through an angel messenger the divine warning was conveyed: 'If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?'" Ellen G. White, Patriarchs and Prophets

Gen 3:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. (KJV)

Maybe if we would all read Rom. 14, and see the depth there we might just help one another and giver consideration to one another in God's type of love not Human flesh type, that is selfish in what it does

Back to the topic?

The third angel's message will go with mighty power
and do its work and will be cut short in righteousness.

"Satan will be ready to give to anyone who is not
learning every day of Jesus a special message of
his own creating, in order to make of no effect
the wonderful truth for this time
." Selected Messages,
vol.1,191.

Isaiah 24:1-6:

"Behold, the Lord makes the earth empty and makes
it waste, perverts the face of it and scatters abroad
its inhabitants; And it will be: as with the people, so
with the priest; as with the servant, so with his owner;
as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the
buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with
the borrower; as with him who takes usury, so with
him who gives usury to him: The land will be utterly
emptied and utterly plundered, for the Lord has spoken
this word. The earth mourns and fades away, the world
mourns and fades away, and the haughty people of the
earth languish. The earth also is defiled under the
inhabitants of it, because they have transgressed the
Laws, changed the ordinance, and broken the everlasting
covenant. Because of this, the curse has devoured the
earth, and they who dwell therein are desolate; therefore,
the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left
."

These are prophecies to be fulfilled.

Here are some prophcies that have been false and they came from Ellen G. White!

False prophecy #1 - Jesus will return in June 1845
"During the year 1845 I met Miss Ellen G. Harmon several times at my uncle's house in South Windham, Me. The first of these meetings was in the month of May, when I heard her declare that God had revealed to her that Jesus Christ would return to this earth in June, the next month." (Lucinda Burdick, notarized letter, published in Limboline)
False prophecy #2 - Jesus will return in Sepetember 1845
"During the haying season I again met her in company with James White at the same place, and heard my uncle ask her about the failure of the Lord to appear in June according to her visions. She replied that she had been told in the language of Canaan which she did not understand; but that she had since come to understand that Christ would return in September, at the second growth of grass instead of the first." (Ibid.)
False prophecy #3 - The Great Pestilence which never came.
In 1849, Mrs. White penned these memorable words:
"What we have seen and heard of the pestilence [of 1849], is but the beginning of what we shall see and hear. Soon the dead and dying will be all around us." (Present Truth, Sept. 1849).
False Prophecy #4 - Jesus will come in a few months.
In 1850 Sister White tells us what her angel told her:
"My accompanying angel said, 'Time is almost finished. Get ready, get ready, get ready.' . . . now time is almost finished. . . and what we have been years learning, they will have to learn in a few months." (Early Writings, pp. 64-67)

False Prophecy #5 - Some people alive in 1865 will see Jesus return

Finally, Mrs. White concluded a 10-year string of failures predicting the return of Christ with a notorious statement that, unlike the previous failures, got widespread attention. She made this statement at a church conference in 1856 and it received notoriety because it was published in her "Testimonies to the Church" and many church members read it. Mrs. White describes her "vision":
"I was shown the company present at the Conference. Said the angel: 'Some food for worms, some subjects of the seven last plagues, some will be alive and remain upon the earth to be translated at the coming of Jesus.'" Testimonies, Vol. 1, p. 131

Question: How many false prophecies can one utter before they are a false prophet?

Answer: Just one. Ellen G. White made many and her followers today will continue to follower her blindly even though the evidence against White is proof positive she is false prophet.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)

There is no use even trying to put these things
you have quoted in their true perspective for
spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

Anyone who is in opposition to the Scriptures
can quote difficult passages and use them to
prove that the Bible is a mere human invention
full of contradictions.

Anyone wishing to find pegs in the Bible
or in the Spirit of Prophecy to hang his
doubts upon will find them.
