Tasted Death for every Man !

Man’s logic often does not align with scripture. Just stick with scripture and what it actually says and put aside logic.

The logical outcome of your belief is that Christs death was not effective to save all for whom He died, He was defeated by the devil.

Not what He died for. You keep confusing the reason for His death with the reason He was raised to life.

Of course I don't, it's a lie that He died to save anyone, why would I believe it? He died to take the penalty of our sin and this He accomplished, it is finished! Now He lives so we can give our answer to "who do you say I am?" without being disqualified because of sin. We are saved through faith in the One who is RISEN!

I've tried searching the scriptures with various combinations of salvation+death or died+save etc. but I can't find a one that speaks of Christ's death saving us.

He tasted death for everyone, He is the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world, He died for our sin. It can't be said any plainer.

Another way to understand Heb 2:9 from the context of scripture, and that is, the foundation of the death of Jesus in the verse is the Grace of God:

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

And the Grace of God is discriminate, its not for all without exception though for all without distinction, of Gods Elect. Ex33:18-19

Ex. 33:18-19; And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

But He didn't die with that intention, that is where you go astray. He died for sin so that whoever believes in Him will not perish. The Father could save no-one until sin was dealt with otherwise He would compromise His own integrity. The Cross enables anyone who believes to be saved because the Lord has declared He will save believers. You even quoted the verse that says this.

John 8:24
Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

Maybe you will believe, maybe you won't but the condition for salvation is clearly whether one believes or not that Jesus is who He said He is.

You won't find a verse that says Christ died for salvation but you'll find plenty that links believing with salvation.

The problem is if you PERSONALLY believe in Christ for your salvation. Have you been convinced? Have you placed YOUR faith in Christ? Or do you believe you were just elected?

The problem is if you PERSONALLY believe in Christ for your salvation. Have you been convinced? Have you placed YOUR faith in Christ? Or do you believe you were just elected?

Whether everyone will is another story, some prefer the dark and reject the grace and truth that is Christ and will never know the mercy that could be theirs in Christ.

Anyone can die on a Cross but only Christ could rise from the dead to never die again. We live because He lives. It is because He rose we can know with confidence He dealt with the problem of sin once and for all. If He hadn't done that, no-one could be saved.
