Is Calvinism the truth?

Do you agree that the unregenerate person has a heart of stone, and the regenerate person has a heart of flesh? (Ezk 11:19) (Ezk 36:26-28)

Yes, the unbeliever still has a hard heart and the believers heart has been renewed.

Do you not see the different response of those that stoned Stephen to death, that were "cut to the heart", and those Jews that were "pricked in their hearts" when they heard Peter's sermon, accusing them of crucifying Jesus? Those that heard Peter felt guilty, and those that heard Stephen felt no remorse or guilt.

Acts 2.


When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins (Acts 2:37-38).


Acts 7.

Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and r the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. Then they cast him out of the city and t stoned him.


In Acts 2, when Peter preached the gospel, the people heard, the Holy Spirit worked on their hearts - they were cut to the heart/ or as the king James puts it pricked. Then they came in faith. Repent and believe.

In Acts 7, When Stephen preached the gospel, there's no cutting or pricking of the heart.. They raged against the truth and killed then preacher.

I mean this with all sincerely froestgreencook, be careful you are not falling into hyper calcinism, it's umbilical and in serious error. Or if you already hold that view I would pray that you review what you think scripture teaches. Hyper Calvinism like all the hyper (theologies) distort the gospel.

Thayer's definition of the word "pricked" = to pain the mind sharply, especially of the emotion of sorrow. These Jews, in Acts 2 were already born again with the changed heart that could feel sorrow, remorse and guilt.

Those that stoned Stephen in Acts 7 had not been born again, and did not feel sorrowful, remorseful or guilty.

Can you not see that the Jews in Acts 2 were already born again?

If your thinking is that to be cut to the heart in Acts 2 is the cause of them to be born again, then I think that you are not interpreting the scripture correctly. Eph 2:1-5 explains how the new birth is accomplished by God's sovereign grace, while the person is still dead in sins.
