How do legalists and judaizers ignore the whole NT and instead work at their own understanding of the OT??
The bible tells us exactly how it is done.

2 Corinthians 3:13-16

13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
Hello Grandpa,

Calling people names is not a very nice thing to do. I love all the scriptures you have quoted. Although I am not sure what your point is? No one here is telling you that we are saved by what we do apart from faith. So your trying to build an argument that is not there. If you have no argument and people believe and agree with the scriptures you have quoted you have nothing to argue about.

We are talking about SIN however and how it will keep you out of God's Kingdom. If we do not repent of our SINS and our faith does not work by love that produces the fruit of obedience you WILL be lost. The fruit of Love is the Gift of God in those that walk in His Spirit and a sign that they are the true believers because they follow God's WOrd by faith in love.

For example God's Word says...........................

Hebrews 10
26, For IF WE SIN WILLFULLY AFTER THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, THERE REMAINS NO MORE SACRIFICE FOR SINS,
27
, BUT A FEARFUL LOOKING FOR OF JUDGEMENT AND FIERY INDIGNATION, WHICH SHALL DEVOUR THE ADVERSARIES.

Hebrews 6
4, For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7, For the earth which drinks in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8, But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

1 John 2:2-4
3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 3:3-10
3, And every man that hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

Psalms 1
5, Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6, For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

2 Peter 2
3, And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
4, For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5, And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6, And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an example unto those that after should live ungodly;
7, And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

Jude 1
14, And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Ecclesiastes 12
13, Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14, For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Isaiah 1
28, And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.

Isaiah 13
9, Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

Isaiah 33
14, The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15, He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;
16, He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

Proverb 8
36, But he that sins against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death

Ezekiel 18

4, Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
20, The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21, But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22, All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23, Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24, But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25, Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26, When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27, Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28, Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29, Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30, Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31, Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32, For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves , and live ye.

Proverbs 28
9, He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Ezekiel 33
10, Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11, Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
12, Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
13, When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14, Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 , I f the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16, None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Romans 6
23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we break any one of the ten we stand guilty before God of SIN (James 2:8-11) and need to repent and seek his forgiveness (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 2:1; 1 John 1:9). Those that continue a life in known unrepentant sin will not enter into God's Kingdom (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

You don't understand the scriptures that you yourself post. Its no surprise you don't understand the scriptures I post.

2 Peter 3:15-18
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Beware, lest you, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

And what is Peters solution for this? Turn back to the law and work hard at your own understanding?

No, of course not. That is the Judaizers view, not the Christians.

Peters solution to not being led away with the error of the wicked is to Grow in the Grace and the Knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Not only is it Peters solution, but it is Pauls solution and the Lords solution. They all say the same things.

I can keep teaching you about Christianity if you would like. The first thing you should do is throw away your Complete Judaizer version of the bible and get a good KJV or NKJV. We could probably even work with a NIV or ESV.

Hello Grandpa,

For me, he must increase and I must decrease. I only point all to the Word of God because it is there we find the one who loves us that we may love him. I know him and am known by him. All that he shows me I see and must show to all because I am blind. He tells me it is those that see that do not see. These are they that have once known him or do not know him. Who am I that he should choose me out of the world? I am no one but he is all. If I did not believe him I would not know him. What can I do without him? He is love and now I love.

I follow him now because I love him who first loved me. You say that I have not answered you, but I indeed answered you with His Word but you do not hear him because you have chosen not to hear his Word to you. I do not judge you but His Word will judge us because they are there for all to see. All are welcome to see and hear God's Word, however many are called but few are chosen. How can you find the way if your mirror is broken? It is hard to kick against the pricks.

Let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged. We can only find him who loves all through His Word. If you have faith in the Word of creation you will be made new. If you are not made new then you are still in your sins and do not know him who loves all because you do not love. If you do not love him how can you keep His commandments when He call you to follow him? (John 14:15). If you have no fruit your light has gone out. This is because men loved darkness rather then light because their deeds were evil. They try to put the light out because they do not want anyone to see they are naked. It is hard to kick against the pricks.

Do you know the scriptures?

He tells me it is those that see that do not see.
Well you have admitted that you are blind. This is a sign of your blindness,

These are they that have once known him or do not know him. Who am I that he should choose me out of the world?
To blindness?

I am no one but he is all.
We agree on this.

A Covenant is an Agreement and through the Lord we partake in the New through Faith.

Yet GOD stated He would make a New Covenant Which He did through His Son.. and we are to listen and believe Him.. which then you will find GOD’s Law in your inner just like GOD said.. by believing which is to build your house upon Good Foundation.. The Messiah teaches us the Commandments and Teaches us the Greatest is to Love GOD and the second like it is to Love each other.. now where Love is.. there be no evil.. for the Lord said you have heard it said before but then put Love and forgiveness in place of say an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth.. because if we bring evil can be forgiven and Reconciled through the suffering of GOD’s Son.. then how dare we not be of that mind.. Love and Forgive.. have mercy.. just as we receive through our Faith in the Lord our Saviour.

twice today.. that the saint Keep the Commandments of GOD and Have the Faith of Jesus.. yes the And is written.. now how can that be? Well by the Grace of GOD of course who said we are to Repent and Believe for the Kingdom of GOD is at hand..

We agree on this.

Take a moment and you will see that LGF is giving all credit to what He shares to GOD.. he is blind without GOD teaching and giving him light to share... he does not exalt and say he sees because he knows it is given sight that he does not have without Faith in the Lord.

I agree with this, but it is NOT pointing back to the Law of Moses. 1st John 3- the commands are believe in The Son, love one another. not Sabbath.

by the way, you never answered m about Exodus 35 -3. if you take that as a literal command., then if you turn the heat on fri. night, you violated the Sabbath.

Hi gb9,

How are you today? Yes we must rightly divide the Word of truth line upon line precept upon precept. The wisdom of this world however is foolishness with God. How will you know His ways if they are as high as the heavens? Spiritual things are Spiritually discerned. How can you know God's Ways without His Spirit of truth? Yet those that have the mirror have faith to ask him who loves all for his Holy Spirit who God gives to those who obey him....

Can you guess the scriptures?

What is the Old and New Covenant to you and what is the difference between the Old and New Covenant laws?

Colossians 2:14 is a direct reference to Numbers 5:11-31 and is substantiated directly from John 19:28-30. That is the "REAL TRUTH".

the New Covenant was explained by Jesus at the last supper. the Mosaic Law was given at Sinai to the nation of Israel only. the Abrahamic Covenant was fulfilled at the coming of Christ. so, the New covenant, Luke 23, does not point back to Sinai, it points to the cross.

and renewed is Hebrew roots invention.

What a blessing for me LM1 to see someone who has faith in God's Word and trusts him who loves and and saves those that know him. The sick indeed know him because they call out Lord save us we perish. They that be whole do not need a physician but many do not know the meaning because they have lost their mirror. Praise God for those that have not lost their mirror. If your mirror is lost or broken how can you find the way that is narrow?

May God bless you as you continue in His Words

'To the nation of Israel only ' ? You are not reading right !
The Stranger (non-Israelite)has never been excluded as long as he is joined to the Lord !!!
See Ex 12 and Isa 56 ...they all come under the same law ! study to show yourself approved !!!

It is the Law of GOD and I look to the Messiah who teaches us the Sabbath... just how he taught that we are not to even look in lust on another as it makes us guilty.. the Lord teaches the Law of GOD and I can keep Sabbath because I love GOD .. I would not bow to idols or take the LORD’S name in vain either not because I fear being stoned but because I Love my GOD.. so you look to accuse and tell me I break if I put my heating on.. well I did put my light and heating on and I do not feel guilty.. and know I’m at liberty under Grace... it is not a free pass to sin but a New way to live and Love GOD and each other... to worship GOD in Spirit and Truth.

Hi Redeemed2015,

Thanks for your post. Here is a few comments with scripture for your consideration. Hope the scriptures are helpful.

Colossians 2:14 is a direct reference to Numbers 5:11-31 and is substantiated directly from John 19:28-30. That is the "REAL TRUTH".
Colossians 2:14-17,
14, Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15, And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath(s): 17, which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Colossians 2:14
Let’s start with the context of Colossians 2:16-17. The context is verse 14 which is the blotting out (G1813; ἐξαλείφω; exaleiphō; ex-al-i'-fo; means to obliterate; erase; wipe away) the handwriting of ordinances which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way nailing it to the cross.

The next question we need to consider is what is the handwriting of ordinances that are to be erased and nailed to the cross?

The Greek words used here is handwriting G5498 χειρόγραφον; cheirographon; which means; hand written legal document which is combined with ordinance G1378 δόγμα dogma dog'-mah From the base of G1380; which means; civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical law: - decree;

The Greek meaning of handwriting of ordinances in V14 is a hand written legal document or book of civil, ceremonial and ecclesiastical laws. These are the laws referred to in verse 14 that have been erased and are nailed to the cross.

What is the legal written document or book (handwriting of ordinances) that includes the civil, ceremonial and ecclesiastical laws referring to?

There was two sets of laws that were given to God’s people in the Old Testament scriptures.

(1) God’s Law (10 commandments) pointed out what sin was and the penalty of sin which is death. It was never a cure for sin in the Old Testament as well as in the New. It only gives a knowledge of what sin is and righteousness (right doing) (Rom 3:20; 1John 3:4; Rom 6:23; Ps 119:172).

(2) The laws of Moses was the second set of laws and included all the civil, ceremonial, and ecclesiastical laws. These laws could not tell you what sin was this was the job of God’s Law, however the laws of Moses were the prescriptive cure for sin in the Old Covenant. These laws included all the Levitical and ceremonial laws, sacrificial burnt offerings for sin, annual festivals and earthly sanctuary services for sin. These laws were the cure for sin so the sinner could be made right with God. These where all prophetic in nature, teaching the plan of salvation which pointing to Jesus as the true lamb of God and our great high priest and His Work on our behalf in the Heavenly Sanctuary. (Leviticus 1; 3-12; 14-17; 22-23; Number 6-8; 15; 28-29; Deut 12; 33; Ex 25:8; John 1:29; 36; Rev 5:6; 1Cor 5:6-7; Heb 8:2-13; 9:1-28)

From the above it can be seen that God’s Law was written on stone and the laws of Moses in a book. God’s Law is forever and only points out what sin is but was never a cure for sin (Rom 3:20; 1John 3:4; Rom 6:23).

The laws of Moses included all the ceremonial and ecclesiastical laws that were the cure for sin with all the sin offerings and earthly Sanctuary services, annual festivals and sin offerings which were prophetic in nature and temporary pointing to the life, death, resurrection of Jesus and his role as the true lamb of God and your great high priest to atone for our sins (John 1:29; 36; Rev 5:6; 1Cor 5:6-7; Heb 8:2-13; 9:1-28). The handwriting of ordinances (ceremonial laws and ordinances written in a book) is referring to the ceremonial, ecclesiastical laws of Moses which included the Jewish annual festivals and sin offerings that pointed to Jesus.

Why were the ceremonial laws of Moses (handwriting of ordinances) nailed to the cross?

Jesus was our true sacrifice for our sins and the saviour of the world that the ceremonial laws of Moses all pointed to. When Jesus came and died the old Covenant laws of Moses that pointed to Jesus and the plan of salvation was fulfilled (John 1:29; 36; Rev 5:6; 1Cor 5:6-7; Heb 8:2-13; 9:1-28). Jesus is our true Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and our sacrifice for our sins. It is our sins as well as the ceremonial laws of Moses that were nailed to the cross at the death of Jesus (Col 2:14; John 3:16).

Colossians 2:14 is the context of Colossians 2:16-17. The context is that all the ceremonial laws of Moses pointing to the plan of salvation and Jesus have been fulfilled and nailed to the cross and along with our sins, if we accept Jesus as our true Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world (John 1:29). We are no longer under the Old Covenant laws of Moses. These do not include God’s Law which is forever (Ecc 3:14).
